Pickens really does hate Texas

To me, you go out here to West Virginia, you're going to go a long way. I didn't like the Pac-10 for that reason. I feel like in the Pac-10, you're going to end up in an east division and end up playing the schools you played before. So why not just hold the Big 12 together? I still believe we can save the Big 12, but I say that Texas is going to have to look like the rest of us in the Big 12 instead of looking like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I don't like that. As long as there's a difference between what Texas has and what the rest of us have, it's going to be a problem every year until you finally go to an equal conference.

Well, a conference network would offset the Longhorn Network. But the Sooners, I saw where they wanted to do their own network, so I don't know. I don't know how this thing's going to turn out. But as long as things are not the same, you're going to waste a lot of time talking about it, so just get the same contract for everybody. Everybody's equal. If you'd have had that, you wouldn't have lost the Aggies, you wouldn't have lost Nebraska and Colorado, and it looks like Missouri's going. It's because things are not equal.

The hypocasy of this man knows no bounds. What has he personally done to keep the Big-12 equal?

I wish someone would call him on that and ask what he personally is willing to do for the Big-12 as an example for Texas to follow.

Also he really needs to get himself better informed about the SECs revenue sharing. It's anything but equal.

I think his money should be shared equally with all Big 12 schools. It's unfair that osu gets it all. It's making the conference unstable.

Interesting nugget in the DMN about an email that Switzer sent Pickens prior to the Texas-OSU game, but was disclosed at a luncheon where Pickens was speaking. Switzer hoped that OSU wouldn't beat Texas too bad so Texas will keep Mack Brown around 'cause he "is somebody that both of us can beat." Switzer and Pickens - two peas in a pod.

Pickens slides right by the fact that agricultural has been making goo goo eyes at the SEC since at least 1994. Once the door really opened up, there was NO way to keep the cult around, even if somebody really wanted to.

Colorado, bless their little pea pickin' hearts, has lusted after the PAC since the Rockies were hills. They got their chance to go somewhere else and be insignificant, and they took it.

Nebraska? They couldn't win anything significant in the Big XII for at least a decade, couldn't dominate like they did back in the Big 8 days, so they just picked up their ball and bailed to the B1G. They're a fit in that conference, but could have shown more class in leaving this one.

Mizzou? Show 'em the money, which the SEC is doing, and they're gone. Like agricultural, so much for a hundred years of tradition...that doesn't pay their bills, except it does. They'd make more money staying than leaving, but don't try to use logic with someone when there's only lust in their eyes.

Like I said, if Pickens is gonna be making his pronouncements, he needs to pay someone to do some more research (He can afford it!) or quit trying to spin things to make him look like the voice of reason. It ain't working.

As many others have already said, if Pickens wants all to be equal, he needs to stop donating money to OSU and start donating to the Big12. I didn't see Texas begging for 1/12 of the cash Pickens donated to OSU, so what right does he have to ask for a share of the LHN go to OSU? As long as there are fans of schools instead of fans of conferences, this is the way it's going to be. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Pickens can pound sand.

I think it is funny when a guy like Pickens uses capitalism as his way of doing business and driving the little guy out but when he is the little guy Socialism is his choice of market.

Other than donating a bunch of money, what position does that sack of **** hold in the OSU athletic dept? Did someone make him a spokesperson for the Big 12 or something? Maybe we should trot out a few of UT's big donors to call him out on his hypocrisy.

Let Pickens enjoy his time left on EARTH...say what he wants to say, do what he wants to do...GOD BLESS HIM...

I salute his success and his loyalty to OSU....wish I had walked his path and had the money to give to my HORNS to finish the SOUTH ENDZONE and making sure that only knothole tickets ($1) for KIDS that would never get a chance to see a 'HORN game....

Only oklahoma, where cheating is considered a sport, would consider Pickens a hero. He almost destroyed Phillips Petroleum by greenmailing them back in the 80's and did the same to Gulf and Unocal. Look at his website though and he appears that he does everything for the stockholder and the common man. But he doesn't do anything unless it lines his pockets first......

T Boone has given Millions of dollars to The University of Texas MD Anderson.... So I think he 's a pretty good guy.

It looks like he has given more than the amount I mentioned above.

"In other healthcare fundraising news, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center announced in a statement that it had achieved its goal of collecting $1.2 billion to fund researching efforts. Much of the money came from T. Boone Pickens, who gave $500 million to the cause." November 2, 2011

I think a better choice of words would have been "Pickens hates the University of Texas at Austin." So much of his hypocritical words are targetted
