Pick one thing...

Pick only one thing you wish you could instantly change, your biggest pet peeve, that you could magically apply to the players. No lofty "head" fixes, no coaching changes, just fundamental football skills.

For me it had to be the ******** wannabe highlight shoulder tackling by everyone but those with "lineman" in their position title. WRAP THE F UP! Sadly, this seems to be more and more a memory!\

When you reach the end of your designated route, if Sam is past the LOS, then block somebody. If he's not past the LOS, then find an open spot to sprint for instead of standing there watching him.

How about WR when you are covered and Sam is scrambling for his life to not get sacked and find find someone open, you scramble to get / find space and help him out by giving him a target!

How about in game decisions? Opportunity to go up by 7 late in the game with a field goal with a great kicker - kick the damn field goal.

More of a short to medium pass game rather than all the long balls. Those put the team behind the sticks and lead to the long stretches with no points everyone complains about.

Rod Babers talks about this on the radio. He is baffled our receivers just run their routes and don't break off to find an open space on the field when Sam is in trouble. He said in college and in pros they practice that with receivers yet here its like its mandatory to only run your route. Once the play breaks down its schoolyard time.

Yesterday ABC kept showing Ricky's run against a&m that got him the rushing record. Next time you watch that, pay close attention to the way Wayne McGarrity blocked once they neared the goal line. He was pushing people around like he was a 330 lb lineman.

Texas teams lost their physicality after 2006. I want a return to that.

When you have a QB who has trouble with accuracy you do him no favors by switching WRs in and out like a swap meet .....Gotta develop chemistry ..... Leave your hot RB in the game and feed him the ball as much as possible....USE the TE for something besides a glorified guard. Use an under the center snap on short yardage and goal line situations and use your big backs to give him a push.Take the points when your defense is playing well. Fair catch and take the ball at the 25 on kick off returns...Quit dancing..just get the darn first down. Throw the freaking short routes to get a first down instead of throwing deep all the darn time !!!!! There are just too many things to just pick one.

^This x 1,000. We've totally abandoned the slant, curl, quick out, swing pass to RB--all passes that would ameliorate our poor pas protection.

Agreed every time I see that replay I’m always super impressed with that block

I would like it to have real meaning and impact when our team holds four fingers at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Not "Okay it's the 4th, we need to start trying hard because we are running out of time" but "It's the 4th, we are ahead and you have NO chance of a comeback. We are fresh and you are exhausted. Get on the bus and go home. It's over."

Have the team get to a place where when things start going well, we fans don't have that " WTH are they going to do to f*** this up this time ?" thought in the back of our minds.
