Anyone know of someplace or someone? Could you also give me a figure on how much they cost? I got this keyboard for christmas about 3 years ago and only tried to play 3 times. I really want to learn, but until I get lessons, I just don't like to practice.

Thanks

Last summer I took a beginning piano class at ACC (Northridge). 2 hours a day, 2 days a week from late May to mid August, cost around $100 or so.

You are in a class with about 10 other people, but each of you sits at a keyboard with headphones (so you can play all the time) and you get a reasonable amount of individual attention. The class is probably better for you if you don't know how to read music; I did, so I knew it was gonna be a drag for a while when she opened her first lecture with "This... is a whole note". Once we got past the basics of music and actually started learning piano technique, I learned a lot though.

Definitely a good place to start, and much cheaper than private lessons. I'd recommend it to anybody who hasn't had any piano experience. The class was MUSI 1181, Piano Class I. Summer session starts 5/23 so you've got about a week to register.
