Photos taken by an 11-year-old boy at the time places Roger Clemens at a party given by Jose Canseco in 1998 and would contradict the star pitcher's sworn testimony that he did not attend the event, the New York Daily News reported Friday.
Canseco has said in a sworn affidavit that Clemens was not at the party, but Clemens' former trainer Brian McNamee testified that he was there.
"We have reason to believe it's reliable evidence," Richard Emery, one of McNamee's lawyers, told the Daily News. "We believe there's photographic evidence that shows Clemens was at a party he says he wasn't at."
The Justice Department is weighing whether to investigate Clemens for perjury and taking performance-enhancing drugs. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which called Clemens and McNamee to testify earlier this month, might ask the attorney general to start a probe.
