I can vouch for Deleware/Hoody's. They are damn good...about as close to the real deal as your gonna get in this area. No one can say one is really better than the other though since they are basically the same place. It's one of those Dans/Frans sorta deals...family issues split them apart, but are pretty much the same place. If you get a cheesesteak dont forget the sweet peppers!
Ken's Tacos on Cameron/Dessau at Rundberg. Doesn't taste as good as say Texadelphia, but for $4.75 you get a sandwich, bag of chips and a drink. Lemme just say you won't be hungry anytime soon after eating that.
SuperHero, thanks for mentioning Ken's ... I was trying to remember them the other day! Now only do they have great philly subs, they do kickass breakfast taco's, too.
Thanks everybody. I had heard that Delaware and Texadelphia were pretty good. I had also heard that Mangia Pizza has one. I will have to try Ken's too casue I do love their breakfast tacos.
My wife's a fan of Texadelphia, but I've yet to have one of their philly's when the meat wasn't cold by the time I took my 2nd bite. Very disappointing.
Delaware subs. to do it up philly style, bring your own jar of cheez whiz & dress it with ketchup. I know it sounds ******* gross, but that's how they do it at Pat's in South Philly. freakin' beautiful.
after posting this, i went to delaware subs on sunday night. to my pleasure, sunday is two-for-one philly cheesesteak at delaware subs. it was damn good....
Hoodys or now the Sub Stop has the best I have found. I think if you take it to go it taste better, I guess it lets the flavors mingle...but good stuff. I also recommend the Gyro from there. They are Great!!!
