Pflugerville at Bowie, Thurday @ 7

Thursday night HS games blow. F AISD for not building another stadium.

This district sucks for not figuring out how to set up their schedule to prevent Thursday games.

Wow. Crazy game. For the first 44 minutes and change Okafor and Co. dominated defensively. Until the final two drives PHS's D held Bowie QB Matt Dodds to 6 for 22 passing for 38 yards and 3 picks. Okafor had I think 2 1/2 sacks with 3 more TFLs, maybe 4, and the DE on the other side, IK Enakmpali (sp?) had 2 or 3 sacks and some TFLs. Then Pville decided to rush 3 and drop 8 and Dodds picked them apart. With 5 O lineman and sometimes a running back blocking 3 guys rushing the passer and Dodds had all day. The reason for his incompletions earlier wasn't great coverage, it was the constant pressure in the backfield. So Bowie shows heart, comes back to take the lead with 18 seconds to go and then tries as hard as they can to give Pflugerville the win. First they have not one, but two delay penalties in a row on their 2 pt conversion attempt and then they did not convert now having only a one point lead. They then proceed to kick the ball out of bounds twice which backs the kick up to the 30 yd. line. P-Ville gets the ball around their own 45 with something like 18 seconds to play and one timeout. I then saw the worst playcall I've ever seen in my life. On first down with Pflugerville needing to gain maybe 25-30 yards for their kicker to have a chance, and ONE timeout, P-Ville puts a WR at QB and runs a reverse which is stopped for about a 14 yard loss. That effectively ended all hope. However, no matter how poorly Pflugerville was coached tonight, give credit to Bowie for playing tough and never giving up and executing when it mattered to pull out a huge win and pretty much seal the district championship. Oh, and in case I didn't stress it enough, Okafo is a BEAST, and gave the Bowie O-Line fits all night. He was virtually unstoppable and I can't wait to get him here in January.

Oh and I forgot, after a HUGE hit (and sack) on Dodds Okafor popped up and proceeded to do the "You can't see me" celbration. It was allsome. He is so ready to be a Longhorn. He even had many of the other P-Ville defenders doing the celebration. Mack wants guy who want to be a Longhorn and Alex is one of those guys.
