Petty lip-synched the halftime show

Petty was lip syncing. I noticed it right away and upon paying closer attention it was quite evident. I found it humorous that he was trying to keep his mouth concealed behind the microphone during the entire performance - something I have never seen him do on other occasions- and it was still obvious - to me anyway.

Well I guess all those teenagers who were getting ready to buy tickets to his next tour and were going to dress like him are going to think twice because of all the ridicule they'll receive...

Oh wait a minute. Petty's 57. No one cares if he lip-synched.

where do they get all those loser teens to rush the stage and where do they have them in a holding pen? why are they so happy looking? how come so many teens are into Tom Petty?
why don't they have middle aged people rush the stage?

I need answers.
 
I wasn't knocking the guy, I just thought it was funny.

I don't know much about sound production, but I imagine the logistics of getting a band setup in a couple of minutes for a show doesn't allow for the sound checks, etc. that are required for a high quality live performance.

At least he didn't start singing the wrong song like Ashlee Simpson on SNL.
 
Paul McCartney didn't lip synch.

Cactus is full of 'who cares' type topics....very interesting how some get all worked up about this.

Virtually everything you heard in the Paul McCartney Super Bowl performance was pre-recorded.

Petty sounded live to me. His band was for sure.
 
Those weren't real teens rushing the stage. They were gifs created by Pixar. The game wasn't real either. Filmed in a TV studio a few weeks ago in Stephenville.
 
Did anyone else notice that all the teens rushing the stage were wearing neon colors. It was like not one person was wearing a team color. Not one jersey in the audience.

Petty kicks ***, but they should bring the Stones back.
 
IMO, he did NOT synch. I think it was live. I heard a few tiny mistakes & timing issues in the music.

It's been 13 years, but I can guarantee you that Tony Bennett did NOT lip sync during the SB show in '95.

I guarantee you none of those losers were at the game. They do the same thing for the Daytona 500. They are let in right before, and ushered out immediately after the "concert." Hell, I think they sell tickets for it. I just hope they have someone other that Fatty Clarkson for the 500 this year.

Tom Petty is awesome and sounded great at the SB IMO
