Wow -- was in Dallas this weekend (lived there for a long time, now in Austin). There was a lengthy article in the DMN about Pete Dominguez. His restaurants have all closed, lost his liquor license, can't get a job, living in a crumbling house.
Really sad. I used to eat at Casa Dominguez often.

Pete Dominguez is/was a drunk, who racked up at least 5, I repeat, FIVE, DWI's in two decades, yet still has the audacity to spout out quotes like this:

I think Casita Dominguez is still open but he sold to his landlord.

There were many references to UT in the entrees. I always liked that they had to have a special section "For my aggie friends".

Bummer. I used to eat at Casita Dominguez quite often when I lived nearby. It was always cool to see the Longhorn references on the menu. The food was always pretty good and I always finished up wth a piece of praline cheesecake. Man, Im hungry now.

Way to kick someone when they are down. I think the article makes it clear that he caused many of his own problems (with help from relatives, it sounds like). Doesn't alter the fact that it is a sad situation.
