Perry wrong about (non-existent) DOT rule

Perry standing by his inaccuracy is a move toward dishonesty.

Bachman's gaffe does not prove blithering idiocy in my humble opinion. Her other utterances about US history may, but this doesn't. Just an error anyone could have made.

Point well made, RV. I will therefore adjust my assessment of MB down a peg, to "numbskull."

Sorry, but I can't understand how anyone who was alive and cognizant during the summer of 1977 would mistake Elvis' date of death for his birthday.

Many Tv stations in Texas ran that story 2 weeks ago. I saw it in 2 diffferent cities,.
Not sure what prompted it but the story was out there and covered by some media in Texas and I would guess other ag states media reported on this as well

edit to add
apparently this started in May when the DOT announced a ' proposed" rule change and asked for comments

This isn't something perry dreamed up

If Perry runs with this, it's not just a lack of attention to truth. It will be a blatant attempt at fearmongering and governmental demagoguery. If he backs off because one of his minions ****** up, he gets a pass on this.

Bachmann's statements just continue to show that she's a clown. Lying about being at a family reunion? Really?

The DOT asked a few months ago if it should require Farmers to get these licenses. They just recently came out and said no. The DOT would have gone ahead had the firestorm not been so bad. They tried, can't blame Perry for missing this announcement on the 10th of August.

I would take a Bachmann, a little off in history vs. a Liar like Obama.

Ah the fog of politics. If you live in a world where gay marriage is a threat to marriages between heterosexuals and you believe "Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse" is a true grassroots organization, this is hardly a stretch. At least no long-term policy decisions emanated from this bit of idocy, unlike the case in the afroementioned charades.

I can't believe there are those who think Perry is a lot smarter than Bush. Have they ever seen Perry speak and answer questions? Have they observed how the legislature pretty much cuts him out of policy discussion and he weilds power only through threat of veto, which he uses like crazy?
Can anyone cite a recent instance where Perry reached across party lines for any other purpose than to smack a Democrat?

So Rick Perry is told on the phone by Iowa's Senior Senator Chuck Grassley that there is a push to force farmers to obtain an expensive commercial driver's license. Lobbyists, bureaucrats. Hearings. Fact-finding. It's something that's being looked at. But because Ray LaHood is from Illinois and Obama is from Illinois, and Illinois is a farm state, and because they say they weren't planning on implementing the rule, the conversation Rick Perry had with Senator Grassley is invalidated? Interesting how that works.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch. The Link

A reporter follows the wild goose chase Obama told a farmer to go down. He's still in the regulatory labyrinth, trying to get an answer on proposed farm dust regulation.

And, yes, Perry reaches across the aisle on a lot of things. One big one this last session was human trafficking. The Link

Perry reached so much across the aisle that he grabbed State Representative Aaron Pena and brought him back with him to his side of the aisle.
