Honest question, but did Perry make the decisions in how the building would be designed? Did he allocate the budget - and how excessive was it in terms of the needs of the office. And would it have been any different with another governor?

I'm no Perry fan but this is a serious reach.

Perry is the career politician that anybody with a brain should want to get kicked off the tax payers dime.

Pharm, you could literally insert thousands of Americans' names instead of Perry. He is not alone in his career. It is nationwide. There are more egregious offenders. For instance, our current president.

Having said that, at the moment this is not a story.

Not surprisingly, you don't understand the hypocrisy of Perry calling out others for living off the taxpayer when that is all he has ever done. You, of course, put everything on Obama when he isn't even involved in this discussion. It's about Perry, sport.

Again, the question. Was rebuilding the governor's mansion somehow excessive? I get that it's expensive, buildings usually are. But since you just threw this topic out there with no real context, it's fair to ask if the spending was over the top in comparison to what you would expect from this type of project. It's not like he said "you know what, I don't like the governor's mansion, let's tear it down and build a new one."

Some of you guys continue to insist on confusing the idea of government excess with government spending. It's very annoying.
