Perry Jones ruled ineligible

Scott Drew might be running the dirtiest program in the country and the Waco Baptist moralizers just look the other way.

I would like to see a large bird **** on Baylor's basketball program, but the timing of this does seem a little odd.

Ha, Ha!!

Here's how strongly I feel about Scott Drew:

(gulp) Boomer Sooner tonight

but still, OU Sux!!

Hook'em!!!

Horn69, living within 10 miles of the Baylor campus and having to listen to their crap and talking about "whorns" constantly I find it easy to route for OU Sucks against Baylor any time.

This seems really stupid. According to the Cam Newton ruling, if the parents do it and kid doesn't know, the kid is eligible. Here, the parent did it and the kid didn't know, and kid is ineligible. One of those rulings sucks.

I agree with you Joe and I am sorry for the kid. If anything's warranted, suspend him for first game next year. ********.

I still hate Scott Drew.

Boomer tonight.

Hook'em!!!

Everyone knows what the AAU coaches are, and most know to run in the other direction when one walks up. Drew accepted their offerings and now his players are paying the price.

When is Morgan not in foul trouble?

No, but, seriously, I am pulling for the Land Thieves because we obviously matchup better with them than with Baylor, our regular season sweeps of both notwithstanding.

I agree Jim. As much as I would like to beat the Bears and Drew for a 3rd time, I feel more confident facing the sooners. I don't know much about them, but it seems that Davis is their only serious offensive threat. I assume Balbay would be guarding him?

The entire Baylor team is playing like they are distracted and not focused on this game. Maybe they're worried that somebody will find out about the loans their mamas got that they aren't supposed to know about.

blowout by blowu

+20 w/ 5 mins left

BU playing like they could give a **** less.

Bring on the gooners.

@South Austin,

In my view you are dead-on. There is no reason to over-think this. The NCAA is corrupt as are most big-money institutions. All decisions are made to maximize cash flow. Jim Tressel is a perfect example of the robotic nature of the liars. He pretends to be something he is not. He is a liar as are all the representatives of these enterprises. There is no longer any reason to believe anything they say. The skill-set required is some level of intelligence with a complete lack of conscience.

In the Cam Newton situation, didn't Auburn declare him ineligible and the the NCAA reinstate him the next day? I though I heard that the NCAA would review this today and rule on his eligibility for the rest of the season (one NIT game), which would actually be somewhat consistent with the Newton deal.

Or maybe the NCAA could allow him to play in the postseason this year but suspend him for the first 5 games next year. Jim Tressel likes the sound of that.

Very well put, South Austin. I don't believe one can be too cynical about these sorts of things. It is, after all, a business.

I can't ever cheer for OU. But seeing Baylor get destroyed was still nice, and a chance to beat OU three times in one year is always welcome.

I'm not a big fan of Scott Drew's ethics in how he runs his program.

But what he does pales in comparison to how corrupt the NCAA is. In the Cam Newton case, we're talking 6 figure payola. In Perry Jones case, it was a loan for a measly $4100 that according to the article was paid back. This is why I hate the NCAA. Mummar Qadafi would be an improvement as an overseer of college athletics.

To paraphrase Jerry Tarkanian, the NCAA is so mad at Kentucky that they put Cleveland State on the death penalty.

The NCAA needs a Roger Goodell type if they're serious about enforcing the rules or change the existing rules to be less hostile towards the student athletes.

There is something very, very nasty going on with Baylor's basketball program and Scott Drew. You can just sense that the NCAA knows it and can not pin them down just yet so they did this suspension to fire a volley over the bow so to speak.
