Perfect Game

Buerhle looks a little like natethehorn.

You don't win a game like that without strong defense behind you. And the story said that Wise game in as a defensive replacement the inning that Kapler hit that ball. What a way for Wise to make his mark -- denying a home run to preserve a perfect game!

the catch! wow... that was a full on sprint to the wall. no time to get set, find the wall, etc..

Wise was shaded toward right field too.. that was a long way to go. great great catch!

credit Ozzie for the defensive substitution in the 9th.

That catch almost overshadows the Perfect Game itself. It's all awesome and glad it was Joe Madden and the Rays that took it on the chin.

Had the good fortune to be at the Kenny Rogers Perfect Game and it was truly spine-tingling. A once in a lifetime experience.

He said he bought all the guys watches when he threw his first no-hitter - and that was expensive! - ha. He should buy Wise a new car.

Wise said he didn't know he caught it because he hit the wall at the same time it hit his glove. He realized he had it when he was falling and he saw the ball falling out of his glove. Amazing.

If he would have dropped it, wasn't it still a catch and dropped on the the transfer? I think there would have been a good case for that. Of course, that far away from the ump, they probably would have blown the call.

in the 40 years since Armstrong first walked on the moon, eleven other men have also walked on the moon...only 8 men in that time period have thrown a perfect game.

F Buehrle.
F Ozzie Guillen.
F the White Sox.

I had little respect for Buehrle after his douchebag comments that the Rangers were cheating from the centerfield camera well.

Ozzie is a total thug who I have little respect for, either.

Nice game, though.

Eric, It looked to me like he opened his glove on purpose and that is when the ball came out. Now whether he was opening it to transfer the ball or just to see if he actually had caught it, I don't know. I've seen alot let "control" called out on the transfer rule.

Alex de Large, the 2nd base umpire (the one who would've made the ruling) was cited as saying the play would've been ruled a hit had it hit the ground. I think the ump was Frank Merriweather, but don't quote me on it.

And F Mark Buerhle ... again.
