Penn State: No more Neil Diamond

It is a good thing someone is thinking about these things... playing that song at their games would not only be in bad taste but potentially it could be another PR problem or black eye for State Penn U.

The song is about a girl and a horse, right? They are sensitive to the wrong things at the wrong times. **** those guys. They just don't get it.

Poor Penn State. They're so shell shocked that if somebody said that their school colors, blue and white, were inappropriate they'd change 'em.

Some vendor who sells Ohio State gear has printed up T-Shirts that say; "I'd rather shower at Penn State than root for Michigan".
 
Does anyone know who actually started the "Sweet Caroline" tradition? I experienced it at Fenway like 8 years ago and thought they were unique. Now it is just another much-copied thing in various sports and levels. I'm guessing it is a staple at minor league ballparks.
 
Stat, surely you will agree that this song meant more to them than music that gets changed out from time to time. It is not on the level of a fight song or even The Eyes but it is a big part of the game day experience. I compare it to what they do at Wisconsin with Jump Around, only Wisky has more fun.

Good point about them possibly being damned if they do and damned if they don't. It's probably easier to explain or hear complaints if you take it away rather than answer the inquiry's if you keep it. People may transfix on just those lyrics and nothing else. People suck sometimes.
