Pelosi Puts McConnell in a Box

Trump's refusal to sign the economic stimulus bill unless the $600 payments are increased to $2,000 fell into Pelosi's lap. She has proposed a replacement bill to be voted on Thursday increasing the payments to $2,000.00. There will be Senate runoff votes in Georgia which determine which party controls the Senate. A lot of pissed off Georgian's will vote D if McConnell says no. At least, I would think so.

48 House Republicans voted yes. According to ZeroHedge it will take 12 Senate Republicans to get the $2,000 from $600 bill through. McConnell is OK with hundreds of billions of free money going to whatever foreign or domestic lobbyists endorse, but not so good with middle income or poor Americans receiving free money. If this doesn't get passed, I predict a D win in the Georgia Senate races. Could happen anyway.

Unlike the Democrat approved bill, however, McConnell’s version would repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Additionally, it would set up a commission to study voter fraud. This came after Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) vowed to delay a vote to override President Trump’s veto of the NDAA until the Senate votes on the stimulus payments.

McConnell’s bill could provide a work-around to that filibuster.
