I currently have the Blackberry 7250. I'm getting a new device and have the option of the Pearl or the 8830. Which should I go with?

I like the smaller size of the Pearle, but unsure of the keyboard. I send and receive lots of email while traveling. I've heard the 8830 has GPS..anybody ever used it?
I'm leaning toward the Pearl mainly because of the size. Thoughts?

thx

I have had a Pearl for a little over a year and like it. The size is great. The keyboard takes a little while to get used to and you have to be careful typing. I think the keys are a little bigger than they are on the 8830 and Curve which is nice.

I recently went from the pearl to the curve. The curve isn't much bigger and the full qwerty is great if you send a lot of emails. I like it much better than the pearl.

Have the Pearl. Love it...primarily due to the size. If your current BB has smart-type, you'll be fine. If not, it will take a little getting used to. And yes, I do TONS of emails on my BB. Dozens per day.

I'll jump in too since I use my Blackberry a ton for emailing. I have the Curve and it is great for sending emails etc. The full keypad is perfect since I send usually long emails while traveling and I prefer it over the Pearl for email purposes. As for actually using the phone to talk, I really don’t like the Curve at all and prefer the Pearl. I’ve thought about switching over for this purpose alone, but I think I still prefer the Curve over the Pearl for the keyboard.

As far as the GPS, some of my co-workers really use and rely on the GPS feature. They all love it and it has been handy many times we have been traveling together.

I’d go with the 8830 if you are concerned about the emails though.

Pearl. Love the compactness of it. I use google maps on it and that works well enough to get me where I need to go. I've gotten used to the smaller keyboard. I can type with one hand or both pretty easily.

It depends on the size of your hands. A Pearl was just too small for me to use. I love my 8830 and the full qwerty keyboard is great. I find my emails much more accurate first time out.

Do you travel a lot internationally? I have 8830 that is on the Sprint CDMA Network. One of the benefits of the phone is that it can work on both CDMA and GSM networks (when overseas). You can also put in a SIM card from a local carrier overseas. For example, my home office is now in Germany, and I have a SIM card from Vodafone.de that I put in to get my local German number. That's the biggest advantage to me.
