Why doesn't this movie get more love? I think its Mel Gibson's best role.

You have to like the movie hero, who isn't really a good guy.

I was thinking of this movie just today but moreso I was thinking about Lucy Liu. She had a great role there. That was a cool movie.

It's kind of lame. Especially when you consider it is a remake of a truly great film, Point Blank.

To me it is every bit as bad as Stallone's **** up of Get Carter.

Yeesh.

Haven't seen Point Blank but from Wikipedia, they both share the same source material so Payback isnt technically a remake.

And I agree that Get Carter with Stallone is bad. The cast of Payback is what makes the movie. James Coburn is in the movie for 2-3 scenes and is great. And Lucy Liu is allowed to kick my butt anyday

And James Coburn does kick *** in his role.

Seriously underrated flick.

The scene in which Coburn rants about Gibson shooting his suits (in the suitcases) is classic. The ending of that scene, which Kristofferson hears over the phone, is also classic.
