Paula Deen Lawsuit Dismissed

It was reported on Good Morning America. They had an analyst who said she should have settled out of court: Losing a million in a settlement is much better than losing $10 million through endorsements and sales. It is an interesting predicament.

Perfect example of crappy media reporting on a lawsuit. They hyped the race element of the case, which was by far the weakest part of her case, so now that it has been dismissed, people think Deen has won. The real case has always been the sexual harassment element, and in that area, I think she's got a decent shot. Even if you only accept Deen's testimony, Hiers did some pretty crazy stuff that's clearly out of line in the workplace.

Quote from plaintiff.

In a statement released today, Jackson said that she wishes Deen and her family "all the best in all of their future endeavors" and that she is "very pleased that this matter has now been resolved."
"During a very difficult period in my life the Deen family gave me hope and the opportunity to work to build a brighter future for my family and me," Jackson said. "I assumed that all of my complaints about the workplace environment were getting to Paula Deen, but I learned during this matter that this was not the case. The Paula Deen I have known for more than 8 years, is a woman of compassion and kindness and will never tolerate discrimination or racism of any kind toward anyone."

In America, people are guilty of being racist simply on accusation. I will make serious effort to avoid the brands which dropped her.

Heard on Fox News "The Five" yesterday that network TV is preparing an episode of "Law and Order" in which a Chef from the South shoots a hoodie wearing black person. The libs and left never surprise me.

There would be no case without the accusation. As far as those brands, they should weigh the opposite fallout of the Sharptons and Jackson's.

No joke. I heard it Friday on "The Five" on Fox N C. You just can't make this stuff up.

Well thought out argument, as usual. Except for the Chris Lane analogy. There was a dead body, tangible evidence of a crime. In Deen's case, it appears you simply had someone wanting her money so they threw out an accusation and got paid.
