Patching mortar/concrete

So we're still battling the ants this fall (trails of 'em are streaming in from neighbors on both sides) and I've found a few entry points where they're getting into small cracks in the mortar between the exterior bricks as well as a few spots between the foundation & the wood siding. I've plugged a few of these already w/ some spray foam insulation, but only in very low spots that aren't noticeable.

So what's the best way to fill in these small cracks? The spray foam--like caulk--doesn't match the mortar mix & would look pretty stupid, plus I don't know how permanent of a bond it would form. And I really don't want to buy a 40lb bag of mortar mix only to use 1 lb. of it & then have the bag lying around in the garage forever.

Any suggestions? Is there a good ready mix type of mortar fill in a 5 gallon tub or something that I can use?

Sounds like you need a moat. I wouldn't plug the weep holes in the brick. I would just fill the holes with poison!

Also, ask Scott Peterson about the importance or keeping surplus concrete mix around for as long as possible!!

What might work is either grout or tile adhesive which both ocme in grey colors. I woudl think the grout (SANDED) might be more consistant with what you need.

As for weep holes try steel wool and spray the wool periodicly with insecticide.
