Wonder who they'll get to replace him? Wonder if they stay in conference and go after Casey? Or maybe make a run at Batesole who had a solid program at Northridge before they pulled the plug on baseball and then won a NC at Fresno. These are names I'm just throwing out, I have no info.

This is a strange time of year to make such a move, and it is strange for a 51 year old guy to resign. Oh well, it will be interesting to see who they get as a full time coach at the end of the season.

Yeah, NCAA probation ahead, and one day after the announcement, Murphy was shown the door. I thought he seemed like a good guy, but I knew nothing about what went on behind the scene.

Per the family of a player that was heavily recruited by Murphy, that's been going on for a long, long time.

It finally caught up with him.

Wasn't a former head coach shown the door after financial shenanigans due to baseball camps .. and can anyone find me the boydsworld.com link implicating that same school after they won a national championship, it had something to do with recruiting violations...

I bet there are a lot of programs that are scurrying right now to get everything in order.

Those violations don't quite compare to providing players with housing and their only rent payment being yard maintenance, nor to providing $20/hr "babysitting" jobs available exclusively to baseball players. Especially not when ASU is already on probation for violations. There's a reason Murphy was shown the door.
