Little bit of a reach there...stating a fact that one team accomplished something another team accomplished is not comparing those two teams.

This team still has a lot to prove with many conference games ahead.

But seriously, how many teams would have played those three teams from three conferences all away in the same season sice Michigan in 92-93, I want to know.. May be nobody else, for all I know...

If I had been coach, I don't think that I would have had the guts to NOT call two timeouts in the early part of the game. Do you think Rick's stomach was churning a little bit?

kudos to Barnes and the staff/admin at Texas for scheduling big games. this is one of the nice things about college basketball vs. football that there aren't a bunch of cupcakes on the pre-conference schedule. games like msu, uconn, pitt, and illinois will only make us stronger going into conference play and the tourney.

I didn't think MSU was the same type of team back then as they are now, so it's interesting they would research those three teams. However it's a testament to Rick Barnes to get these guys back on the same page, have them go through a fairly tough guantlent so far and stand where they do. I don't think we'll fall apart with the next loss, but we do have probably more so or equally intense games coming with OSU and Aggy on the road and Mizzou. Excited to see these guys continue to mature and excel.

Definitely right Chest about teams of the decade. I was talking about 2 decades ago when MSU had the coach with the green plaid jacket I think. They were good as I recall, but not Tom Izzo good.

Horn-N-LA, you're thinking of Jud Heathcote and he had some pretty talented players over the years he was there: Magic & Kelser, Jay & Sam Vincent, Scott Skiles, Kevin Willis . . .

I don't remember him wearing loud blazers. Now Wimp Sanderson of Alabama is a different story. Wimp's favorite color was plaid.
