Password Protecting a Printer?

My roommate is always using my printer, and I don't normally mind except for when it is nearly out of ink and I'm nearly out of paper and he comes in here and prtins full color pictures without asking me first.

Is there any way I can password protect my printer just to where when you hit Print it will ask you to put in a password? I'd prefer this to confronting him about it, because this way he'd take the hint without me having to sound like an *******.

A buddy of mine had a boat with a sign on the dash inside that said "my boat doesn't run on thanks".

Do something similar.

I would think you have other problems if you can't tell your roommate to stop using your ink and paper. If he's using it frequently, then nothing wrong with asking him to contribute. If its only every once in a while, you're sounding kind of cheap. He should be offering to help, but how much do you think its costing you?
