For those coming to Lubbock for the game, I have some places to park and places to avoid. The new parking garage across the street on 4th and Marsha Sharp Freeway is sold out for the Texas game. If you park there and do have a parking pass, it may take a while to get out. Avoid this area if you don't have a pass. The family that sits next to me had both cars broken into last year in this area.
There are some churches along University Ave. that charge $10 for parking and it's pretty safe over there.
If you don't mind walking you can park over by 19th and Flint in that neighborhood, just be sure to look for no parking signs in that neighborhood. You can get in and out quick by parking in this area.
If you want to wait for a bus, you can park over by the United Spirit Arena and pay $5 or somesuch to ride the bus.
I usually park around Flint Ave. because it dumps you out on 19th and you can get out of town pretty quick. We always drive back to my folks place out near Childress, Texas after the games.
Also, if you are drinking be sure to put your beeruhs in plastic cup. They crack down on people during the big games. The cops out there can be redneck aholes. They almost arrested me at the alumni center for trying to bring in a Nalgene bottle full of water.
