parking in lincoln

Anyone have a suggestion about where to park fairly
close to the stadium? This will be our first visit there.
Thanks in advance.

I don't really have an answer to the original poster's question, but I wanted to counteract the juvenile first response he/she received. You see, kid, some of us have been going to UT games for a very long time. We remember back when we sucked, because we were at those games too. And we'll be in Lincoln next Saturday supporting the Horns even though we know we know might get whacked. You know why? Because we're Longhorn fans. Enjoy your bar stool, and Hook Em.

If you get there early there were lots of private parking opportunities at lots & such for a few bucks, along and parallel to P or Q street when we were there last time.

that whole state is one big flat parking lot.

Shouldnt be a problem. Park anywhere.

What MaxHorn said. Besides, Austin's too far for us to drive @ 14 hours.

Calling HNK. You have suggestions for those us us pulling in around 8 or so? Plan to be at the team gate by 12 since we can't count on the busses to arrive just 2 hr prior to kick.

Weather's looking ok w 72 & sunny forecast, too.

We're staying at a Holiday Inn Express north of the stadium and hope we can simply walk to the tailgate and game. Hope to see y'all there.

In 1998 we paid $3 to park in a Church (?) lot, where we could see the scoreboard at the north end of the stadium. In 2002 we parked on the street for free a couple of blocks south of the book store (a must see), and had lunch at a Chili's or TGI Fridays full of Horns watching OSU beat the Ags in Stillwater. Did the same thing in 2006. Parking is never a problem there. While I know this trip will be different, always in the past we were offered food and beverages at every Husker tailgate we went by. I think 2002 was when the woman had her County Fair prize winning pickles and a 30 gallon trash can full of iced down Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer.

I understand their decision to move, but I am sorry that they are. We have always had a great time up there.

We prepaid and reserved a spot in a parking garage south of the stadium. You can get a parking space for $12.00/$13.00 if there are any left at: The Link

Last time we got there early and parked on the street downtown. I believe it was near an Embassey Suites. Not a bad walk to the stadium.

Bought mine online through city of Lincoln just like I did last time.

Find event and click on "Texas" and it will give you list of possible garages and a map of their location and how many spaces have already been reserved. I had Texas flags on my rental car last time and it was a small pleasure to see the attendant try to turn me away only to have me flash my receipt.

I am parking in Cornhusker Square Garage for 10 bucks. It is a little bit of a walk but I believe it gets you in and out with less congestion.
