and their expectations when going there. Seems like they will have some regrets as I don't think they can get past the Elite Eight at best unless there is a big change in how the team plays.

many interesting quotes in that article. particularly the one by their dad. it always seems akward to me when parents talk to the media, especially if it's about coaching.

"The pedigree is there," Paris said. "The great talent is there. But Sherri Coale's got to figure out how to use it. The pressure of winning the national championship is not on the players but on her. She's got to step up to the plate and become an All-American herself."

The ball doesn't magically fall in your lap, you need good guard play to make the engine go. Case in point the last four years at OU for the Paris twins. I'm noticing some exceptional guard play at Texas that some post recruits might want to take note of when they are making their decision about where they'd like to go to compete for a national championship.....

I would say that Coale and Courtney share the blame for not getting Courtney in shape. If a player goes to a major university and doesn't take advantage of the state of the art facilities to get in tip top shape then that player and the staff share the blame. You have to wonder how much better Courtney could be if she were more mobile. And does she work on her shooting? She still cannot make a shot unless she is right under the goal. Ashley obviously took greater advantage of this opportunity than Courtney and now the talk is that Ashley will be drafted before Courtney in the WNBA draft.

Look at why Candace Parker is such a great player. She is mobile and can play any position. She worked on her game to hone her overall game and wasn't happy with just standing under the basket. Your opportunities are what you make out of them.
