Paradise Notes

The Horns did some really good things during the tournament. Aside from beating #11 a&m (nothing ever tops that), the team averaged 16 assists per contest. That includes six players with 2 or more in the Memphis contest, five with at least 2 vs. Sryacuse, and eight different players with at least 1, and four with 2 or more vs. the ags. The team also got production from almost everyone, with all 10 who saw action in the a&m game scoring, 9 of 10 scoring vs. the Orange, and 9 players also scoring in the final contest with the Tigers. Overall the team shot 45% for all three games, and dropped 18 treys for a 45% BTA average. It's hard to be too disappointed with the Stanford and Syracuse losses considering how much we've improved over last year. Both are great teams, and the Orange figure to jump pretty significantly in the rankings (currently AR vote category in both polls) after the tourney sweep, and upset of a&m. And I would definitely like our chances should we face a rematch with either squad later in the season. I am excited about the rest of the season, and really hope to see us continue to build on what we've accomplished thus far. Still some areas to focus on, but hopefully the good results in Paradise will provide all the encouragement they need to keep working hard, and getting better.

Good points.

I think the Syracuse game was a blip. At least this season. They simply looked lethargic all game. That should have been a close game. This team appears to be tougher mentally than last season. They did not get down after a subpar performance but came back and pulled out a win over A&M the next night. That, to me, is the most encouraging part of this tournament. This team is going to lose some games. But they can’t let one loss negatively impact their play in the next game.

I love that, we have different player's leading us in scoring.
The Defense is so much better then last year.
Keep working Ladies!!!!!!
