I am gonna try the place crayon suggests but there is a late night option in Austin too. It is Pango and is on Congress and 8th (West side of street). It is good too. The atmosphere is awesome, food great and I'll be damned if it is not affordable to boot. Their Teriyaki chicken is good as well. They have bubble teas, assorted hot teas, full bar, and of course, sushi chef's.

Check it out. On weekdays they stop serving about midnight or earlier if nobody is there. Thursday, Friday and Sat. they serve till about one or so and are open till 2. I have gotten my fix sometimes as late as 1:30. On Monday's they now have a 6 hour happy hour w/ cheap, cheap sushi prices on certain items. Call me before you go 'cause I will prob. want to join you!

I've only eaten there once, but I was not very happy with the sushi. It wasn't cut properly and the rolls were not so good either.

Really, crayon? Huh. I have not ever encountered that. Either I am lucky or you are unlucky. Huh. I will def. keep my eyes open then, thx.

by the time I left, I was very drunk... But I think every time I leave a sushi place, I am drunk. Damn that Sake, damn it to hell. However, I think pert of it is I have been lucky enough to eat sushi at some of the best places in the counrty Matsuhisa, Nobu (NY and Vegas), Katana (LA). Mainly because when I travel to a city and they have a great sushi place, I always try it. Having that background has made me a picky sushi eater. Of course enough Sake will pretty much drown my snobiness.
On that note, try the Devine Drop Sake at Kenichi. It rules

-also, it was at Pango where that waitress tried to get me to back her movie.

My last roomate and I were at a party and this loud mouthed know-it-all girl was mouthing off about how she knew sushi. She was throwing it in peoples faces how she lived in Seattle and had the best sushi there was. Letting her rant on for awhile my roomie chimed in, "You don't know what you are talking about, I think I have had better!". "Yeah, right she said...and just where would this have been?" She said this w/ a snide look on her face. "Uhhh, Japan, and for over a month at a time!". She shut up for awhile. Turns out he had visisted his brother who was teaching English there for over a year. He did so a couple of times.

Yup, I think Japan has pretty decent sushi. But the places Crayon speaks of are just about as good as it is gonna get anywhere, even places in Japan. A top notch list. One I wish I could have on my credits. Bastard.

Uh, thanks Crayon, but I think that Sushi is one item that I don't think I would want after being warm on a plane for a few hours. This is to be one of those times when it is the thought that matters. Thank you very much...for the thought. Imagine a spicy salmon roll...ten hours later! Blech.
