Aight, giving my first shot at pancakes from scratch using this recipe: The Link Hopefully this will turn out well and I will start putting nuts/beries/chocolate chips, etc. into these in the future. Let me know if you guys have a better one I should try next time.

Added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to that recipe. And bought a griddle.

Turned out really good. Got through about 6 pancakes with 4 pieces of bacon before I had to quit.

I actually prefer Bisquick to any 'from scratch' pancake I have ever made.
Even better than that... IHOP... I might be in the minority, but IHOP has the best pancakes I have ever eaten.

Kerbey Lane has the best pancakes...and if Bisquick is your favorite way to make them at home, I understand your love for ISLOP.

No matter which "mix" you use, including making from scratch, try separating the eggs and whipping the whites to stiff peaks. Fold the egg whites into the batter and enjoy the lightest pancakes you've ever had.

Anybody remember Uncle Van's Pancake House? When I was a kid I loved their dollar pancakes smothered in whipped butter and Boysenberry syrup.

hungry jack buttermilk complete-- deer camp just add water-- very edible

blueberry pancakes-- drop a few blueberries in skillet--cover with batter--then do the usual stuff--flip when ready

amazingly easy

Yeah, verily, on the blueberries.

Dare yourself to try it at least once with whole wheat flour. You may (probably) need to increase the milk to get them thin enough. At least double the sugar, using brown sugar.

Edit: Oh yeah, melted butter instead of oil.

Bisquick and the other mixes just taste wrong to me. It take just a few more minutes to make them from scratch and they taste SO much better. I'll second the suggestion to "peak" the egg whites.

"How many egg whites does it take to replace one egg?"

You don't want to eliminate the yolks. Just separate the yolks and whites. Put the yolks in your batter. Beat the whites and fold in.

I make pancakes for breakfast tailgates quite often. I will bring the batter and then whip the egg whites and fold them in right before cooking. Perfect.
