Pacman Trade theory..

My theory -- the titans want to make the trade tough for dallas to swallow so they're "forced" to take pacman back and let him play if he's reinstated. Thus, they wont be seen as cutting the guy slack, but will still get him on the field.

That's my conspiracy theory for the week.

Fisher has made it pretty clear that one way, or the other Pacman won't be back.

As far as the potential Cowboys trade, The Titans expecting more than one mid round draft pick for him is probably wishful thinking on their part. Especially if there won't be a decision on Pacman's reinstatement until training camp.

As a Vince-era Titans fan, part of me wants him to remain in Nashville because he is (was?) one of the great playmakers in the league.

But I have my doubts that he'll ever going to get his head screwed on straight.

Pacman has so much negative publicity right now that any team that forks over real money to him is going to regret it later. Most teams are smarter than Dallas and are just sticking away. I could see oakland going after him b/c their owner is crazy. Tenn will not take Pacman back. They actually will have less leg to stand on if they made it look like they didn't want him and tried to trade him and then were unable to do and thus had to play him. It would be like a failed bluff.

Let's be honest... Pacman's trade value before his suspension was easily a 1st rounder. I'll give you a "locker room/off field cancer" deduction to a 2nd round pick. If you're going to be a really tough negotiator, I'll acknowledge that his off-field future is uncertain, but his on-field potential is very good.

Let's call it a high 3rd round pick and be done with it.

The Titans can't afford to let him go for nothing. He was a critical piece of their defense and special teams who made spectacular plays. Offering a 5th round pick for a player taken (I think) #6/#8 overall is like trying to trade in your 1985 Ford Taurus for a BMW.

There are plenty of "draft gems" out there, but you're not going to find a potential shut-down corner and playmaker in the 5th. As I Titans fan, I don't really want him back in Tennessee, but I know we can't give him up for nothing.

I just realized that as much of a scumbag Pacman is, if he came to the Cowboys, he'd only be the second worst human being to play CB for the Boys, right after Duane Goodrich.
