Titans: Pacman trade agreed to with Cowboys

The News
According to Rototimes.com sources, the trade of Pacman Jones to the Cowboys is close to being completed, with the hold up being how the team will settle the grievance with Pacman over financial matters. Apparently, the team's have agreed on a 3rd round pick being sent to Tennessee along with a conditional pick, believed to be a 5th rounder, if the Cowboys were to make it to the Superbowl. It also appears that Roger Goodell has given his blessing to the deal and has stated that he would re-instate Pacman as soon as Pacman and the team work out the issues over his grievance.

My thoughts: I supported this move if it was for a 5th or 6th round pick, but Jerry is an idiot if he gives up a 3rd AND a conditional 5th. He was bidding against himself! A 3rd round pick is way way too much. If that is the case, I can promise you that Jerry trades that #28 pick to move into the early 2nd round and pick up a 3rd rounder. Typical BS he likes to pull. The Titans played Jerry if it is a 3rd. Hell, Randy Moss just went for a 4th rounder last year!

For f#ck's sake, do we really want to give up a day 1 draft pick for a dude with no arms or legs!?

I would like them to get this deal completed, but a 3rd rounder seems extremley high. I would have only gone a 4th at the most. This years draft is only going to be the 1st and 2nd rounds on day 1. Rounds 3-7 falls on day 2.

I like the trade even with giving up a 3rd-rounder. It all depends on Pacman's 'tude. If he stays out of trouble, he's worth far more than a 3rd rounder. If he blows it, the Boys lose a 3rd round pick.

The way this team drafts, I'll take my chances.

I'm not concerned. Pacman is an impact player. I doubt whoever they pick up in the third round would be better than pacman. What would the boys do, draft yet another linebacker or lineman who would be on the practice squad?

The only way to tell is revisit this three years from now, compare pacman to the player the titans picked up.

Carpenter was a first round pick/ doesnt even start. wont start this year. this team is deep in talent

I seem to recall the Cowboys have two 3rd round picks. I'm curious if this is the first pick in the 3rd round they got from the Dolphins, or their own pick late in the round. That makes a huge difference - something like the 61st overall pick vs the 90th.

What a draft changing move for the Cowboys. Even though I can't stand Pacman, he is a player. The Cowboys fill a huge need a CB with a 3rd round pick. That gives them two 1's and a 2 to address the two other glaring needs, WR and RB.

My friend just called me and said he is reading that after the Pacman move that the Cowboys will focus on a trade for Roy Williams of the Lions or Chad Johnson of the Bengals. I forgot to ask him where he read that at. But wow if we can get one of those two. Of course preferrably that WR for the Lions.
