Packer Watching

Posted this on Cactus Cafe, but maybe that is the wrong place. Where in Austin do Cheeseheads gather to watch the Packers play? Thanks

I know they used to get together at Abel's on 24th Street, but I'm not sure if that's still true or not. I think so.

Not at Abels anymore ... there's a new owner and he doesn't host the Packer games anymore. The Packer folks then migrated to The Tavern, but they're closed now.

My Packer buddy says try the sportsbar in Showplace Lanes on I-35 and Rundberg or the sportsbar in the Holiday Inn at 183 and MoPac.

There's also a upscale restaurant/sportsbar in Lakeway (can't recall the name) that's real nice, never crowded and lots of good beers.

I think Oil Cans has the Packers on. I don't think it's Sunday though.

Legend's is the name of the place at 183 & Mopac.

If people keep hounding Jack, former owner of Abel's, he might start opening Nasty's on Sundays for the games. He was thinking about it.
