Oven flashing 'fi' and beeping

Has anyone dealt with this...? I was able to Google the issue and found other models with similar issues...something about the insulation breaking down control panel.

Any other encounters such as this...? Did you repair the the thing or just replace it...? NOTE: Current unit is 14 years old.
 
I believe it is an overheating issue. Some units have a small exhaust fan to draw heat away from the controls. On these units, I believe the unit shuts down, the oven door locks and the error comes up. Cycling power will clear the error, but it will come back.

The fix is to get into the controls and clean the fan or replace if it is not working. I have repaired this once and was surprised that it didn't shut down earlier. A solid sheet of dust back there. Similar age
