Outlets not working

Last Friday, the electrical outlets in our bathrooms mysteriously stopped working. We tried resetting all the breakers, but that didn't do the trick. We are only experiencing this problem in the two bathrooms; every other outlet in the house is working fine.

Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!

Are they GFI outlets? Do they have a little red button and a little black button? If so, press the red button and try again.

Definitely take JimmyJazz's advice and look for the GFI's. Note that the GFI may not be in one of the bathrooms, but could be located near the breaker box...

I don't believe they're GFI; if they are, you can't reset from the outlet. I'll check near the breaker box when I get home and report back... thanks.

There may be one "boss" GFCI outlet - which is typical in newer homes. Look at every outlet around the bathrooms and in other rooms and see if there is another GFCI outlet. Then "reset" it.

The same thing happened to me in my new house. The GFCI outlet was in the linen closet and fed the two bathrooms next to it.

Unless your house is very old you're going to have GFCI circuits in your bathrooms & kitchen. Basically any outlet that's near a water source has to by code be part of a GFCI loop. Like others have said, check all over the place. My kitchen GFCI loop has a reset outlet by the stove, but the loop my upstairs bathrooms are connected to are out in the garage.

Ours only seems to trip after I've gone to work and my wife is trying to dry her hair. She doesn't really enjoy trekking out there in the morning.
