36 rushes/ 25 yards (including Bradford's sacks)
Murray 13/ 27 yds
Brown 13/ 25 yds
Granted, TCU can play some stout D, but for all the wailing and gnashing of teeth around here about our run game, I'm liking our chances against OU, running and defending the run. Bradford had big yds passing but was 19 of 34. I say we sell out to stop the run and let our talented but young backfield do their thing, while we Bhomar Bradford.

Here is some food for thought. 198 of his passing yards came on 3 plays. Bradford had 34 attempts tonight. WIth exception to those three plays Bradford was only averaging 6.8 yards per attempt.

tcu played 8 and 9 in the box. that helped with rushing yards, but they gave up 411 passing yards and 35 points. i hope we can do better.

Watching the Gooners race out to a big lead and then coast, I sort of got the feeling they were governing themselves, plodding along with handoffs into the line and then going deep whenever they wanted to score.

What they do up till this game means nothing for us. If there is one game Bradford lights it up or their running game clicks, it will be our game. Same goes for us with them...or the complete opposite.

Throw records out, throw the years stats out because many times they don't matter.

Fact is we still have a young secondary who will get trial by fire that day. I hope they respond and deep down think they will, bigtime.

At times our pass rush lags, or so it seems. That ou line is veteran and deep. We may not see the third and fourth quarter type of fatigue and drop off in talent that we have seen v. teams played thus far.

As fans let's not read too much into that. If those stats hold up for the big game and our backfield holds their own, not dominates, just holds their own we are in good shape and I like our chances.

I am also seeing things through tired eyes behind burnt orange glasses.

I know how they did it. I also know we can do it with fewer people in the box. We did it today: Ark 26 rushes/ 11 net yards. It's going to be a great game in Dallas.

Our pass rush has been outstanding all year, doing just what was asked of it in each game. Listen to Muschamp and you'll hear nothing but confidence in that aspect of the D. He even had to bite his tongue a little today in the post game, being careful not to gush. No QB rhythm allowed. We got good pressure with four all day today.

I also can't believe people are still foaming at the mouth about any other team right now. We're as good as anybody. Period. Good thing is I think our players know that, in spite of their many timid fans. Lots of people here over the last few weeks saying we couldn't stay on the field with SC, GA, OU. Crow.

We are as good as any team in the nation. We lack experience at DB and at #3 WR/TE and RB but we have as much talent as any other team in the nation.

As we saw Thursday and today its not just about talent.

We outplayed/coached OU last year however had two bad breaks go against us which helped them win. This year we are a lot better. I'm a big believer in Muschamp. We haven't even had a real taste of what he is gonna bring. I think next week is when we start seeing some of the more exotic blitzes and more from the def. playbook. This D is gonna be scary good by the end of the season.

they made the commitment to stop the run. and we kept trying, and kept trying, and kept trying. if we wanted to throw more we could have had 500 yards easy. but i was still very impressed with their defense. they challenged us to run and we really wanted to win that battle, but we couldn't.

but like other poster said. if your db's can cover our WR one on one, you can sell out like that too. we'll see.

drake, maybe those two turnovers are the reasons that the score, yards, and TOP were in your favor. that can happen in close games. and maybe those two turnovers are what that poster was referring to.

i disagree and think that we just didn't get it done when it counted and ou did.

isn't that what defines a win. if you outplay and outcoach a team, you win and if you don't outplay you lose. its kinda late to try and revise the game. maybe you think the germans bombed pearl harbor.

I think it is more important to look to the game this year. there is a hell of a lot more riding on it, don't you think.

1.) Score 28-3. Game over. Feni.
2.) Coaches knew that today OU would be #1.
3.) Close the play book. Run clock and punt.
4.) TCU is NOT going to do anything. Nadda.
5.) Risk vs reward in laying 70 pts on TCU is just not there. Run time down, don't get any injuries, go to the house. Far too easy of a concept, and one 90% of all coaches would do. (if in the same position) MM

OU Offensive Coordinator Kevin Wilson's postgame comments:

“They have a tremendous defense. We scored 35 points against a good team. TCU publicly said you could not run on them, so there is no need in square pegging it, but we do need to run the ball better. When you live by the sword, die by the sword and put those guys up there one-on-one, we have some guys that can make plays. If the protection holds up and our quarterback plays well, we have a chance to make plays.”

If you take away all of Oklahoma's scores everyone would have skunked them. Wouldn't that be something?

Of course you would have discount the most points scored by any team in the history of the NCAA. Just think sometime this season OU will break the 30,000 points fielded mark, if you didn't take them away that is :/

That is quite a strategy for an argument. Does it ever work?

The OU that plays TCU is not the OU that plays Texas. Besides they killed them.

I hate BlowU but questioning their running game after they thumped a good TCU team screams aggy. Give them their due. TCU sold out to stop the run and they took advantage of their speed against the TCU secondary to the tune of 400+ yards passing and a 3 TD victory.

OU is a good team. We'll have to hit on all cylinders to beat them. But I like our chances in any game we play as long as Colt is healthy and our defensive line is healthy.

On the surface, it looks bad that we scored 31 on a horrible Arkansas defense by halftime and OU scored 28 on a good TCU defense by halftime. However, OU scored 28 because they had 9 offensive possessions to our 6. 5 out of 6 possession scoring vs only 4 out of 9 scoring sounds about even considering the differences in the competition.

The worrysome thing about the game was OU's deep passing game. I don't know why so many of Bradford's yards coming on 3 plays should be encouraging to us. They can do the same thing to our secondary. Especially since 1 of them was Bradford throwing a nice easy pass to a WR behind the line of scrimmage who took off for a long TD - just like guys like Mark Clayton always seemed to do to Texas.

The good news is this. Several times in the RRS we've had a good DL and yet failed to get any pressure on the OU quarterback. Several times we've had a good running game and yet failed to run on OU. We saw a TCU DL sack Bradford 3 times - if they can do it we can do it. We also saw Dalton take off for couple of first downs and set up some 2nd/3rd and shorts on designed QB runs plays. If he can do it then Colt can definitely do that much and more - that's one thing our offense was missing against OU last year as it wasn't until Nebraska/Okie State that Colt started becoming a running threat.

Mr Dalton left the game with a knee injury. I don't want to see any player injured in the RRS, on either team.

I think McCoy will run for on the OU Defense. I don't think Coach Brown will want him to do it very often however.

* Coach Patterson said Monday he thought Dalton would be back for their next game Saturday.

I have watched ALOT of football so far this year (outside of Penn State) and I think the best two teams in the country play in Dallas in 12 days. Texas is the best kept secret in football right now. I don't see OU or Texas losing another game unless Texas loses at Tech or OU loses at OSU.

With all that being said, I think OU wins.
