OU v UConn

Sooners not looking good. 22-36

UConn has hit 5-11 3-pointers - OU's gotta get outa that ZONE! Defense doesn't look too good on either side, but OU can't hit their shots.
 
Sooners only 10 points back now at 15:00 in the seond half - Courtney has only 4 points, she did her classic forarm shiver to clear out her defender to get her second bucket - I just hate that!

OU is having trouble hitting the outside shot. Wonder if that is just tonight or something they will have trouble with all season, like last season? Makes it tough to get the inside game going, as we well know.
 
UConn is making it look easy. OU is going to have a hard time staying in the top ten after this.
 
OU is over rated! #4 team blown out by the #1 team. Over rated I tell you. OVER RATED!
 
Hand looks to be a good shooter when she has time to get set.

Ashley Paris is in better shape this year. The announcers said she has lost 35 pounds.
 
I'm not sure that anyone will beat UCONN this year. They had a tough game against Ga Tech but I just cannot imagine them losing unless they become complacent. They have EVERY piece to the puzzle!
 
UCONN does look scary good this year. for UCONN to be tested it will need to be against a team that can match their athleticism and speed, and play some good on ball defense.

OU just wasn't able to match up with them at all. they weren't athletic enough or fast enough, and they didn't play very good defense.
 
no outside shooting and no point guard. OU will not go very far. probably a 4th place team this year. maybe 3rd, but Texas, Aggy and Baylor should all be better than OU. Courtney will join Seimone Augustus as a great player with no championships
 
You're probably correct about CP. I will give her props. She has shattered numerous records but she might fall short of a NC.
 
I think UConn is a bit thin in the post with one of their post players (Buck?) not able play yet. Or maybe she has already returned. But that might be the only possible weakness when they are clicking on all cylinders. I haven't seen anyone as smooth as them yet but it's still early.
 
Too bad the Paris twins decided on Oklahoma instead of us. We would have a shot at the NC for sure if they had and so would they. Oh well.
 
UCONN looks strong in the post to me with Charles and McClaren. I don't think I could categorize them as "thin"...certainly not McClaren

Coach Coale was quoted in today's paper as saying that was the best OU had played against UConn.

Makes you wonder about OU since I didn't ever get the feeling that they were a threat to win.
 
WOW...is she saying that even that at their best that is the closest they can play UCONN. I wouldn't call Courtney going scoreless in the first half their best.

UCONN's freshman, Doty, draining threes killed OU. Montgomery, Charles and Moore were huge, but Doty was the one who broke OU's back. The other three were expected...Doty was the X factor.
 
that quote made me laugh a little. maybe she was only watching her team on offense. sure they only had 8 turnovers and shot a decent %. but they let a team score 106 points on them! their defense (or lack there of) was totally exposed.

that's what i love about coach g. she is huge on defense. texas is aggresive and in your face, and they change it up a lot. i can't wait to see how they do against ole miss, tenn and arizona state.
