Looks like they've lost they're golden touch. Poor stoopise.

Three of the last four OU classes have been laughably bad and this one is going to be VERY bad.

zero-u's not gonna fall off the map under stoops, but they're not winning the recruiting wars in Texas that they were five years ago, and it's starting to show up in October in Dallas.

Also, the previous poster won't want to look at the 2008 class, if he/she wants to remain under the impression that OU is unable to pull the top kids out of Texas.

I agree that ou got some good picks in 08 (one of which UT curiously passed on) but they have come up pretty dry in 09 and 10 versus UT. That is not to say that they won't still find some good players and that stoops won't be able to get some good national recruits. I have to agree with the land thief that it is laughable to say they have fallen off the map.

aside from the good schtick, i believe stoop's leveling off has occurred as his great surplus of young coaching talent has dwindled, moving out to other head coaching jobs. like jimmy johnson's cowboys staff of the 90s, he's lost a lot of talent. yes, he's still got a top notch staff, but it's not the Young Guns that he had when he took the job in Norman. now, he is like the rest of the top coaches. he's good, but what he was before was loaded with coaches.

now's he's just one of the really good coaches.

with that, compare norman, austin, LA, and florida. i mean, c'mon.

I'll second the sentiment about Blow U and the title of the thread; that goes without saying. But anybody assuming the dark knight is dead is way premature. Has Mack grabbed the momentum with his recruiting strategy? Absolutely. Is he kicking stoops' *** this year? Absolutely. (And is that a wonderful thing? Absolutely.) But let's face it: When you scroll through the favorites lists of the remaining potential 5-stars, Blow U is listed in most of them, and will get at least a few of them. Bell was the most highly ranked QB in the central part of the country (and no, I'm not suggesting he's better than Wood). We still haven't closed the deal on Jeffcoat or Nelson, and Blow U is in the mix on both of them (though, with Jeffcoat, we have much more to fear from USC). Let's celebrate what Mack's guys have achieved this spring and revel in what stoops has failed to achieve -- so far -- while remembering it's a long way until LOI signing day and there's a lot more work to do. Let's get JJ, DW, Hicks and Nelson on board, and then enjoy the fruits of that for the next several Octobers (and Januarys).

But, for the record ... OU sucks.
