ou lost WR to TT

Apparently, Oklahoma's low graduation rate within its football program (46 percent) cost the Sooners a top-flight prospect. Rider (Wichita Falls, Texas) WR Eric Ward has dumped Oklahoma and has committed to Texas Tech, the Times Record News out of Wichita Falls, Texas reported. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver immediately enrolled at Texas Tech (79-percent graduation rate).

Could this be just the start of something.

Nice pickup for Tech. I saw Eric Ward play in the playoffs. Even though he didn't catch many balls you could tell he was a great athlete.

Very comparible to Brandon Collins or James Kirkendoll.

A high graduation rate does not mean that it is a good school. It could mean

a) No NFL propspects go there
b) The players take easy courses
c) The school makes sure that players pass

Actually I heard a rumor that Crabtree didn't show up for any of his classes during the past fall semester. Of course I am sure it is false.

As crappy as I think OU is, I'm pretty sure Tech is even worse (as far as academics go).

Anyways, "HA HA!" (Nelson pointing at Bob Stoopid)

What is our graduation rate? Seems like the Pirate was sticking it to OU and us over this issue during the BCS fiasco.

OU is probably a bit above TT as a whole, but all bets are off when comparing the quality of education for their athletes. I suspect both are a little shaky in that area.

My son was a sophomore this year on the WF Rider Raider team with Eric Ward... he knows him very well. According to him, this is more likely his mother talking than Ward himself.

I, myself, would lay a wager that zero-u's recent BCS bowl collapses have something to do with it as well. But then again, is going to TT any better in that regard. Who knows?

At any rate, I have seen this kid play a lot and he is a great athlete... TT is getting a good player.

actually tt is doing fairly well in head to head recruiting versus ou. in addition to ward, earlier this year db will ford decommited from ou and pledged to tech.

likewise, tt won a major head to head battle with ou for the commitment of qb, jacob karam.

have I missed news about D.J.Monroe?

Hook'em!!!

based upon Leach's crack about how the three-way tie should be settled by graduation rate I have wonder if he didn't stumble on to a talking point that he's using while recruiting.
