positively creepy. virtually dead silent on their boards. that is sooner-speak for bad news. i went looking on their boards to get some idea how the day went, and . . . nothing. somebody even made a post on one of their boards about the silence.

any clue what is going on?


edit: i think maybe i found it. should have looked at the lead stories on sooner scoop.

haven't seen anything substantive, but sooner scoop is suggesting that the trio of texans they were counting on to spice up the day may have canceled.

elsewhere rivals says metoyer stayed an extra couple of days at mississippi and loved it there. no word on whether that caused him to miss the sooner jr day.

the other two that sooner scoop hinted about are sims and wallace.

if that's the deal, i'm sure that is why the sooner drums are silent.
 
Hey, the job market is tough even in auto sales and moreso at jobs you don't have to show up for but still get paid.
 
yeah, well, i've been out of pocket and haven't paid that much attention to their junior days. i knew they had this one coming up, but now, looking at their boards, i see nearly no mention in anticpation of the one today. the word on the no-shows must have been around for a while.

i think this is the third one for them, and they have 5 pretty decent commits to show for it but nobody yet with star power. i have to wonder if this is the last junior day for ou. they do better waiting and then scooping up california kids.

i did see some hint that sims did show. he would be a big pickup, of course.

anybody know if b williams turned up there?

edit: no, apparently this was the second jr day for them. my original comment was based on something said in one of their posts. i gather i misread.
 
hey, l00p, on a side note, i liked your quotation from hedberg. i wasn't familiar with him and googled him. then youtubed him. very impressive guy. sorry we lost him.
 
But in this case, the hare has already crossed the finish line and is waiting to receive a couple of crown jewels at the after party.
 
well, i am getting frustrated. i'd like to know who did show up and who got offered. did anyone commit?

there is not a peep on the free boards, and the only thing i've been able to glean from the topics on the rivals pay board is that the ou/leander pipeline appears to be in good shape. no commitment to report yet, but maybe an offer.

good grief. when those guys don't want the word out, they make the cia look like loose-lippers.
 
trey had transportation issues. apparently, he had an opportunity to ride with someone to ole miss, so he took them up on it. trey sounds like a good kid, that might have limited funding, and his family has stated they want him to see as many colleges as possible.

no new offers being reported. no new commits.

no news to report, so that is likely why you aren't seeing any. besides our junior days are not like yours. we'll be fighting for these guys for a minute.

sims and williams atteneded. bragg didn't make it.
 
Danzel Williams committed. Bizarre. Kid plays RB, but I can't imagine us shutting the door on Sims/Brown/Williams this early, unless they found something out regarding Sims' interest, which was perceived to be high.
 
what a difference a couple hours make!

yeah, kind of a head scratcher, but seeing who we are offering and who is on the roster.... some guys will be playing different positions or transferring. just too many.

to be honest, i'm pretty surprised that UT has been able to stop transfers at RB. i assume because they all think they still have a shot to be "the guy"..... or they are willing to live with the committee you currently have. if the latter, that is a pretty good situation to be in.
 
no doubt the kid's a player. we go after good players who aren't on the radar yet, too. would be dumb not to.

maybe recruited as athlete? if so, won't impact the biggies at rb, even just from a numbers standpoint. not totally out of the question at rb, either. the services don't always get it right.

edit: thanks for the update, by the way. been itchin' to hear something.
 
Okay, saw some film of the kid, Danzel Williams. Nice back. He has great feet and balance. Top-end speed isn't elite, but he looks more than fast enough to play at a high-major college like OU. He reminds me a little of Maurice Jones-Drew. Not sure he'll be that good, but his style is pretty similar.
