OU in a tight one

Failed two point conversion. Sooners were lucky. The QB put the pass for two on the receivers hands, but the ou DB made a great play to break it up. Damn it.

We play 3 straight games against teams that come off playing the Sooners? KSU, ISU, Baylor? I like our chances.

OU interferes with receiver on the two point try but it's not called. Gets away with it again. They are always getting away with dirty play. They also got away with another noncall earlier in the quarter.

Interference
Yes, I saw that on the replay. But as the announcer said, the refs won't call bumping and jostling on that play.

isu has a wide open receiver (the tight end) in the end zone for the win, but Purdy didn't see. so goes the game. a tough loss. ISU is a good team. We'll have our hands full.

Even if we win out, if Baylor beats OU we lose all tie-breakers; as OU will not lose 3 games. TCU doesn't have the offense to outscore OU, and OSU never beats them. That means we have to pull for OU to win. *#^&*&^%$@#$%

You're very, very good at finding things to ***** and whine about. It must be your superpower.

First never root for OU to win. Did that in 2008, didn't work out. Let's just play it out and see how it lands. Win all our games and I'll be happy regardless. ISU is a good team on the road. We have our work cut out for us.

Pass was late. If it's on time that's a TD. But with it being late, OU defender grabs the arms and really gives the receiver no chance to catch the ball. Clearly PI but of course it's not called. OU looked gassed. I'd of played OT and told the wife that before the snap. ISU had all the momentum and no reason to go for 2.

Obvious Pass Interference. Clearly Big 12 officials have been (again) told to protect Zero U in order to have a chance to have a Big 12 champion in the playoffs.
That train has probably left the station with the LSU win. If aOSU, Clemson, and LSU all finish undefeated, Alabama will be the 1 loss team in the CFP.

^Probably true, Viper - but the Big 12 will try to protect Zero U as long as there is any thin chance of getting them into the playoffs.

We will hear alot about the "good loss" for Bama....but I believe as much or more weight should be on strength of schedule.
Not sure who that would benefit but not Bama, and I've always been opposed to putting in a team that doesn't even qualify for their own CCG.

Bama will have enough strength of schedule and their loss is to #1. OU losing to KSU sunk that ship. I think a 1 loss Big team has a strong chance over OU. If OU wins out their best win will be against Baylor. They played no one in non-conf.

Good argument/points.
Just for the sake of argument...What about a 1 loss Ohio State, Georgia or Minnesota vs Bamas record and schedule?
I'm not impressed with Oregon much. But I guess they have to get a look, too. ..Nah. lol
Again, I just dont like seeing a team in without making their CCG.
What if Minnesotas only loss is to a #2 or 1 Ohio State...and have victory over #5??
Against Bamas resume I mean....not reputation..resume.
Could get weird...Georgia beats LSU in CCG...Georgia and LSU in and Bama stays home.

I would totally agree Minnesota should get a look. I was mainly saying OU sunk their ship with a loss to KSU. Their real problem is they aren't playing teams like we are in non-conf. We can lose a regular season game as long as we win against the likes of LSU and still get in. OUs margin for error is smaller. Last year the conference was stronger so they had a stronger SOS. This year if your best win is against Baylor no ones going to care. Only reason Baylor is undefeated is because the Big 12 refs don't know the rules. If they had their rightful loss to TT, they're sitting around 20 and a loss to OU would kick them out of the top 25.

This was our year with everyone replacing their QB. Really thought we had a chance to get to the playoffs if we could beat LSU. Course none of that happened, but what I thought about the conference as a whole was dead on. WVU was a pretty good team last year. Now they are awful. OSU lost to TT. TCU sucks. I just don't see a playoff team in the Big12 and that includes OU. There's LSU and tOSU at the top. Hard to see anyone else beating them. Still think tOSU is the best team as LSUs D still looks suspect to me. tOSU has no weakness.

$EC trumps everything including strength of schedule. Unless the CFP Committee has a come to Jesus moment, the highest-ranked $EC one-loss team will get the nod over all other one-loss teams. Oregon/Clemson would be a good semi-final game but at best they would be 3 and 4 so they could not meet until the final.

Of course, we can always hope Baylor goes undefeated, somehow jumps from 12th to 4th, and where LSU would make the Miami/Texas Cotton Bowl game look good.

Momentum is overrated, undefinable, swings back and forth constantly, and there is no evidence that scoring last in regulation, even multiple times in a row, affects your overtime odds.

Agree but dont like it

I almost always agree with you...in instances like that...
But, for some reason
Momentum is overrated, undefinable, swings back and forth constantly, and there is no evidence that scoring last in regulation, even multiple times in a row, affects your overtime odds.
I'm with you normally, Stat, but this setup looked like a tie the game and take OU to overtime to me. Their defense was gassed and ISU was very confident and having their way on offense...also had held OU to very little offensively down the stretch. This wasnt WVU-Texas or NC-Clemson.
Every situation is different, and while I'm usually with the go for the win crowd...I didn't see it here. ISU was the better, more confident team down the stretch of that game and bets should have been placed on them in OT. JMHO...who knows..

True, but none of them deny the stealing of land and getting away with that either.

Yep, we stole it and got away with it. Let's embrace it and name the university after it.
I'm not quite sure what your're point is with your first sentence but my point was a lot of people thought it was a penalty. Even gooners.

Really? Well, it was supposed to be a joke. You know what "Sooner" refers to, right? They won the game, so admitting later that it was PI is no big deal. Would they admit it was PI had it been called and then they lost?
