Davis hits his first 3 three point attempts; OU their first five to move up to a 23-10 lead. Johnson with a mid-range jumper and then Pittman in close to narrow it to 23-14.
Getting closer, now just down 5, but defense hasn't exactly improved with OU getting a layup and Texas missing a man under the basket who waits too long and lets Pittman come block. Then another Davis 3, off glass this time.
Brown lets Mason-Griffin go right by him, Hamilton has to slide over, leaving Crocker, who gets the pass, Hamilton goes out and fouls Crocker who hits 3 free throws. Brown and Hamilton as a two man defensive crew.
Things starting to get a little better. Texas dominating on the boards after the first couple of minutes. OU still getting open looks when Brown is slow following or staying with his man, but at least they aren't rainingtotally uncontested threes anymore.
Pittman looks alive. So does James. I think they are appreciating this is their last home game.
Well, it could certainly be a lot worse, but that was a disappointing end to the half, having Brown hit a three for the tie, then watch him bob his head like a fool, have Texas lose a man under the basket and nearly give up a layup, but have him fumble the ball and get a turnover, only to go down 4 on 5 (Pittman still on the floor) and have Brown jack up crap, then OU come down, miss, get offensive rebound, kill the clock, miss, get offensive rebound and score. Horrible last 45 seconds.
I just can't imagine what Barnes is thinking over there on the bench. Guys just jack up 3 after 3 with no ball movement. End of the year and these guys haven't learned a thing. It's disgusting to think about losing to OU 2x. No pride at all.
This is OU and these guys just don't get it at all. Maybe we need some more Texas boys in here that understand what playing OU means. Good grief.
