ou game

Sounds reasonable. They've won 3 of 4 against Herman, so why would things change this year?

Neither Texas nor OU have played really badly, they've had long sections of their games where they "went to sleep" if you think that they should be dominating the game. Or another way to look at it is that neither Texas nor OU is really any better than other decent teams in the league.

That besides the cellar dweller Kansas, everyone else is at about the same ability level. Luck of the draw? Result of OU not having a stellar QB who carries them to a win? Shortened playing time from off season issues, who knows why, but the result may very well be that any team is capable of beating anyone else this year, and that every game is going to come down to late turnovers or big plays.

Makes for exciting games - the UT games against TT and TCU were great games if you were not a UT fan, and just wanted a good exciting game. Same for the OU games against KSU, and ISU. I watched the ISU game and it was very entertaining.

You may just have to enjoy the season for what it is - a battle royal every week, with no set favorite or dominating team, and the B12 game may have teams with 3-4 losses each.

As true as this might be, at least in the Big 12, it reminds me of the expectation-managing crap that Mack used to say when he was serving up chipped beef and gravy on the field while trying to convince the fans it was filet mignon. Hated it then and hate it now.

Of one thing I'm certain a few games in, there is no elite team in the Big 12. It's frustrating because at the start of the season with a senior qb, years of stockpiled talent, and one of the more vulnerable OU teams I've seen in years... I thought this team had a chance to win the conference and potentially make a case for the playoffs. Four years into the job and the mulligan to replace both offensive and defensive coordinators, for me this was a no excuses season. After the last two games a different reality has set in. I can positively see more losses in conference and I'm sure I'll say this 100 more times this week, but if we lose to OU on Saturday I am done with Herman and this season.

This is a ******* joke right?

I'm going to lay down 10k on Texas ASAP if I can get that line. What site is that on, because I'm going to take away some serious $$$ from them.

I know Texas isn't as good as we liked to have this year, but consider these matchups:

1. Quarterback - - advantage Texas
2. Running backs -- advantage Texas
3. WRs -- advantage Texas
4. Defensive line -- advantage Texas
5. Offensive line -- advantage Texas
6. Linebackers -- advantage Texas
7. Secondary -- advantage Texas
8. Special teams -- slight advantage to OU

This game is a mismatch on paper. The last time Texas had the edge in all these categories against OU was back in 2009.

9. Coaching
10. Motivation
11. Player Development
12. Understanding the Importance of the Rivalry

Idk.... I'd give OU some / all of these.

We probably had TT and TCU covered on #'s 1-8 in those games too. Lost one and barely won the other. I think the line is off and we should mud hole them but I wouldn't touch this game with a 10 foot pole. I thought Ehlinger would set the UT passing record vs. TT after watching a QB with zero D1 offers light them up for almost 600 yards. That didn't happen either.

13. Which Texas Team Shows Up

Look guys we BARELY lost vs TCU, if the RB doesn't try to be a hero and stretch the ball over the goal line, we win that game hands down.

OU on the other hand looks lost. They are absolutely terrible.

Even if OU somehow manages to pull out a miracle and beat us they will still lose mininum 4 more games this year.

I saw the Texas +2.5 line on BetOnline and 5Dimes but those websites state that it takes several business days for deposits to clear.

The sportsbook I use, sportsbook.ag doesn't have the lines listed yet.

I can guarantee you that line wont stay at +2.5, I bet by the end of the week when everyone comes to their senses that the line will shift to Texas -5.

I'm going to drop some serious $$$ on this game, I just pray that the line doesn't shift too quickly from +2.5

I'll have some of what you're having.

I will save you a lot of money...... DON'T put money on UT.
1) UT will not put pressure on the Rat Snake like ISU or KSU may have.
2) UT DBs will not cover OU WRs like ISU did.
3) UT will not get away with PIs and holding like ISU did.
4) OU's TE will have a field day.
5) OU's RB will do much better vs UT than ISU or KSU.
6) Our running game with RoJo and Bijan injured will not move the ball vs OU.
7) OU's defense will do the same thing they did last year to Sam.
8) Tradition means more to OU players than these pretenders that put on the Texas uniform.
9) This could be one of those mudhole games Mack delivered a few times.
10) Ingram was in a funk for weeks after he dropped the TD pass that helped cause the LSU loss...Imagine his state of mind after basically LOSING the game with the bone-headed reaching for the goal line in a pile, from the three on FIRST AND GOAL.
11 ) New staff doesn't have a clue about the RRS.
12) Pride and tradition runs much deeper in the hearts of OU players than the pretenders.
13) OU wants it more. They can't afford another loss, as they are out of the conference race if they lose again.
35-24 OU wins it. Texas Pretenders gets a late TD to make it respectable.

That orange kool aid must be loaded with vodka

That is the best kinda kool aid

Since 1999, there is only one guaranteed way to beat OU. Apply relentless pressure to the QB. You will get burned once or twice, but pressuring the QB play after play has worked like magic!

Oddly enough, right before I quit drinking almost 35 years ago I was mixing vodka with my kids kool-aid. :)

But seriously, we have one loss at this point.
Run the table and we may well end up playing for the CC.
And who knows how the record of other teams in the nation will look at the end of this crazy season.

I predict that only one team (and coaching staff) will be truly focused and motivated to salvage their season this Saturday

Yeah, Lincoln Riley does not like defense, doesn't know any defensive players, once walked past a coach talking about defense.....but man, he knows OFFENSE (until lately, when he doesn't have a transfer quarterback, is stuck with a freshman oh never mind)

The problem is the current land thievers program coaches their OL to hold. Hold until flagged, then hold some more. I dont know if anyone else has noticed but we dont seem to get the benefit of the doubt from the conference refs much. ou knows this, and they exploit the hell out of it.

MD-Do you seriously think we are top10 or top 20 caliber? Man I must have watching a different team than you the past two weeks. I think you should consider a career as a comedian man. Surely that was a joke huh?

I never said anything about being top 10.
I said all possibilities still exist.
Depending on the record of all other power 5 teams at the end of the season we might be top 10 by then.
If we run the table and win the conference championship you don't think there's any possibility we get in the playoffs?
What if key players at Bamma or Clemson test positive and they lose a game or two?
Anything is possible in this crazy year of 2020.
I will have hope until we lose another game. :)

Well last time I checked you have to be in the top 10 to go to the CCP. You are right though,Louisana Tech could make it too,or Arkansas.

The team that we saw against Tech and TCU is who we are, an undisciplined, I’ll-prepared, fundamentally unsound team.

I do not expect for Texas to win regardless of the struggles OU has been facing this season. Certainly we could see a dramatic game to game improvement but that seems unlikely with this team, and this HC.
