About 14 minutes to go... 66-46. Blake Griffin sitting with three fouls. Hogs beating OU one on one all over the floor. Willie Warren can't make a bucket in the second half, and the Sooners can't make FTs. Arkansas is piling up fouls, though... Ed Hightower is working.

Arkansas announcer just said, "The Texas ticket has just become the biggest ticket in Arkansas basketball in a long time..."

Down 12 now with 10 minutes left. 1st loss of the year if they lose. Their two best wins aren't looking so good now (Davidson and Purdue). Purdue just lost at home to unranked Illinois in overtime.

Four threes by Tony Crocker have pulled them within nine. I don't think I've ever seen Crocker make four threes total.

But the Hogs don't have any kind of reliable offense. It's all whoever can make a move.

Things are getting interesting. Good news is B. Griffin has 4 fouls. Bad news is Arky's top 2 scorers today also have 4 fouls.

OU is just 4-14 from the foul line. And we had problems? T. Griffin and Warren are combined 0-7 from the line.

Thanks for the heads up. I went and installed the 360- seems very cool with good quality.

Finished just in time to see arky hold on to the 8 point win.

Hogs win, 96-88. OU ran out of gas a little bit, three turnovers in a row down the stretch.

Longhorn visit is going to be a physical game.

If Texas does not bring their A plus game to Ark. it could get ugly for the Horns. Ark. is very good at 10 - 1.

The recruiting for Willie Warren went sideways when Texas brought him in on an unofficial visit for the Ohio State football game at DKR right before Warren's junior season in high school. There were some other high profile players on visits that the Texas staff paid more attention to, and the Warrens (Willie Warren and his mom) felt slighted.

From there, it was all uphill, with Texas never really even sure he was worth the effort --- not from a talent standpoint, which there's no disputing, but from an intangibles standpoint. Frankly, I think he made a great choice in OU, just like I feel that Tommy Mason-Griffin did.

Even if Texas had done a perfect recruiting job on Warren, I'm not sure they could have beaten OU for his signature. Warren was looking for a place where he can get loads of playing time, put up a ton of shots, and handle the ball. He didn't go to Kansas --- who did recruit him really hard --- because he wanted to go to a less profile program where he could make a bigger impact, and that would need to rely on him more. He also formed a great relationship with OU's assistant coach, Taliaferro (or however you spell his name) when that guy was recruiting for Stan Heath at Arkansas. After Heath was fired, Capel hired Taliaferro specifically to help him with Warren (although Taliaferro is supposed to be a kickass recruiter regardless).

In the end, Warren never bothered to make an official visit. To me, it's always tough to say Texas lost out on anyone that didn't visit campus for over a year before he signed.

One thing people should understand when they quote this websites regarding where Texas is listed, is that players --- especially instate players --- often list Texas because it helps create drama in their recruitment. Darrell Arthur did pretty much until the very end, even though he could never be inconvenienced enough to come down and visit the campus all the way from Dallas. Just because someone on the internet says that Texas is #2 on a player's recruiting list, doesn't necessarily mean it's actually so behind the scenes.

Luke Babbit was a big one.

Also, Gary Johnson was in for his official visit. There was one other guy, but I can't remember who it was.

What I saw was that ou wanted to play their usual thug ball and Arky just ran away and scored at will. It was like a layup drill for the Hogs. Shows what a fast pace will do to the sooners.
