10/2 Week 5
Most schools enter the meat of their conference play.
#8 Arkansas at #2 Georgia - The headliner game. We'll see just how real the hogs are as they take on the Southern Dawgs between the hedges. I think they're for real. Look for a smash-em-up dog/hog fight.
#7 Cincinnati at #9 Notre Dame -- Two undefeated teams. Without much of their usual fanfare, Notre Dame is in good position to make another playoff run. I don't think Cincy topples them tomorrow.
#21 Baylor at #19 Okla State -- this is a very interesting game to me. Both of these middle of the pack sort of squads find themselves surging. Someone's gotta lose. Who's going to join the big boys of the Big 12 this year, and who's mire in mediocrity? The former Mullet's team has played down to his opponent's level, but they keep coming away with wins. They know how to win ballgames. I'm taking Okla State..
#6 OU at Kansas State -- This is the sort of game where OU has been known to lay an egg. Doubtful it happens this year.
Texas Tech at WVU -- Tech's Wells has moved to the hot seat. WV looks pretty solid. Good luck Raiders, you're gonna need it.
Miss State at #15 aTm -- Two identical schools and teams, one with bizarre and cultish traditions. aTm is a worse version of Iowa -- good D, not-so-good O with a lousy QB. The Pirate continues to struggle without the sort of QB play he's used to at previous stops. It would make many a day if the Pirate prevails tomorrow.
#14 Michigan at Wisconsin -- I don't know if I'd say Michigan is "back", but they're looking pretty solid. Tough road venue though. Lots of calories will be consumed at the tailgate.
#11 Ohio State at Rutgers -- Smash mouth bruisers/bullies show the originators of football how it's done these days.
Indiana at #4 Penn State -- someone needs to take down the evil empire. Not sure if Indiana has the horses to do it.
Charlotte at Illinois --

U of I's AD won this week's chicken-

of the week award for scheduling these patsies.
Minn at Purdue -- The luster has worn off Minn. Just another bruising smash em up between lower middle of the pack Big 10 squads.
#12 Ole Miss at #1 Alabama -- I think I underestimated Ole Miss earlier this year. They're looking good. Good enough to pose a credible upset threat.
#22 Auburn at LSU -- Big Ed's having a bad year. Auburn is likely to make it worse in this battle of the Southern tigers.
Tennessee at Missouri -- ???
Pitt at Ga. Tech -- ???
Duke at UNC - Mack needs an easy W to get back on track.
UCF at Navy - Navy is outmatched athletically. Navy needs to shake things up. What they need most is another one of those star option QBs.
#3 Oregon at Stanford - Yes, Oregon looks better than ever. Weird conference, weird game. I can't predict this one.
Washington at Oregon State - Both teams are down. The Dogs should prevail though.
Ariz State at UCLA -- Two promising teams that have tripped up a bit. Look for the Bruins to take them.
Wash State at Cal -- Cal
USC at Colorado -- Ags take notes on how a proper offense can cut the Buffaloes apart with relative ease.
#18 Fresno State at Hawaii -- This is simply one of the worse Hawaii squads in recent memory. Their tackling would make Manny __iaz pissed off. Don't see how the Bows pull the upset tomorrow.
