OT Waahid Muhammad (Not offered yet)

I love how we now get excited over zero-star projects who had offers from Texas State and Tulsa and one year of football experience. It's the polar opposite of the good old days when players who weren't in the Rivals 100 were scrubs.

I love how you love to get all negative and uppity over a post saying a recruit "might" be a good fit.
Just thinking he could be a good redshirt to learn a position we need depth at.
Possible diamond in the rough nobody else is looking at.
Please tell me where you found "excitement" in my post.
All I did was post a link.

Pierre-Paul didn't play football until his Jr. year of high school. He started out at a CC. Of course, he missed the "don't blow your fingers off" course in the transition, but he is an NFL talent, so there's that.

6'6", 285 and so athletic he starred in basketball. That's a pretty rare specimen.

My father played college ball with a similar, probably better athlete, at New Mexico Highlands in the 1950s named Charlie Cowan. Played center on an NAIA championship basketball team and tight end for football. When the game was going poorly, the NMHU coach would move Cowan to running back to get more touches and if things went really badly, he'd play quarterback. Cowan went to the NFL and made the Pro Bowl -- at Guard for the Rams.

Waahid Muhammad ..... Waco, TX (La Vega)
3-star ..... OT ..... 6-6/285 ..... Tulsa

Waahid is a Matt Mattox commit to Tulsa who could flip to Texas for a coach he likes and, well, because it's TEXAS. Though only offered by Navy, Texas State, and Tulsa, Scout.com thinks he has a great frame for the college game; looks best at RT but could play inside as well.

Per Horns247:
Waahid Muhammad might be the most intriguing prospect in the state.

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle out of Waco La Vega had no prior experience playing football until last year. It wasn’t that Muhammad didn’t like football, he just thought his future was in another sport.

“Basketball is what I thought my future was,” Muhammad said. “All I wanted to do was play basketball. Parrish Cobb’s dad was actually my coach, and going into my junior year, he told me I should give football a try.”

Muhammad followed his advice and transferred to Waco La Vega.

After a full year in pads, Muhammad flourished this past offseason and became not only a full-time starter for Waco La Vega but also one of the best offensive linemen in Central Texas.

He committed to new UT offensive line coach Matt Mattox and Tulsa in early August and remains firmly committed despite his position coach’s departure. Mattox was one of the first coaches to discover Muhammad, and the two have a great relationship.
