According to DMN. ESPN still shows latest as him receiving offer from Dodgers. If true, certainly adds a highly experienced pitcher for #5 spot. The Link
It is so f'ing fun to be a Rangers fan after 30+ years of sitting in the blazing heat watching your team's brains get bashed in. I love this move. The Phillies and Angels probably aren't real happy right now though...
With Feliz injured and possibly weeks away from coming back this move makes sense on multiple levels. Even when Feliz returns it brings depth to the rotation and another long reliever to eat up innings in August and save arms for the stretch run.
In the olden days of Rangers baseball, other teams pulled off this kind of magic and we were always saying gee I wish the Rangers had signed so and so or traded to get X. this ownership and managment wants to get it done and they have the $$$ to do it. I love seeing the Good Guys do this to others... as Inspector Clouseau once said: it seems the foot is on the other shoe!
RO will be a good addition - even if he does not play quite like his glory days. He will be better than leaving Feldman in the starting rotation for the season... we have him at least another 2 weeks before RO is ready. Feliz in the rotation was also worrying me - he has been inconsistent and I have told others I am not convinced that the Game 6 WS debacle is completly out of his head yet...
Feldman & Feliz in the bullpen to add depth is a dividend to RO addition.
