Some comments on our OSU experience:

People were very gracious. No rude fans!
Eskimo Joe's is a little chaotic, but nice venue.
Cheese & Bacon fries were awesome.
Beer was cheap! $3.00. But undersood OK has a lower alcohol content! (Who knew?!?!?)
Stadium smaller than expected.
Getting out of Stillwater at 11:00 at night - nightmare!

Overall, great trip and glad we did it. Sure wish the horns would have found a defense on the way, but they are still looking!

A lot of the Cowboy fans told me "Welcome to Stillwater" and offered me a beer which I had to decline (okie beer gives me a headache which is why I took 4 cases of Texas beer with me). Very nice people and I thought very classy after the game.

Regarding the rumors about weak beer in Oklahoma, they turn out to be mythical for many typical beer drinkers.

If you drink many of the standard American lagers, and especially light beers, your beer in the state of Oklahoma is probably not much lower, if at all, in alcohol content than what you get in Texas.

Oklahoma is one of the five remaining states that measures alcohol by weight, while Texas measures it by volume. 3.2% ABW ranges between 4.0%-4.5% ABV, depending in the style/density of the beer. For example, Miller Lite, Bud Light and Coors Light are all 4.2% ABV, and I believe the only state that requires them to actually lower the alcohol in light beers is Utah. The non-light american lagers typically range between 4.5%-5.0% ABV so the ones from the convenience store in Oklahoma may very well be a little less alcoholic than what you are used to if you don't buy them in a bar or at a liquor store.

If you drink full-flavored beer, especially Ales, Porters and Stouts, you must buy your "high-point" beer from a liquor store unrefrigerated and obviously not on Sunday, many holidays, or after 9 PM on other days. A bar with a liquor license, like Tapwerks in OKC, can sell cold high-point beers and I bought an imperial stout there that was 10.9% ABV.

All my okie friends know to buy liquor store beer rather than convenience store beer. But that is all they sell in the bars as well unless it's not domestic. And it still gives me a headache.....
