OSU-OU and K-State-ISU

So, who are we rooting for or against in these games?

OU—against, of course. Give 'em that third conference loss and out of the running. And if K-State loses, they, too, pick up their third conference loss. That'd give us two 1-loss teams in OSU and ISU, and us (assuming we beat Kansas) the lone team with 2 losses.

But if OU and K-State win, and we beat Kansas, we've got five teams with 2 losses headed into the final two weeks, which'd make things exciting. Our games with ISU and K-State would then eliminate somebody (or two somebodies).

Hopefully, we're one of the 2-loss teams standing at the end. Could be a thrilling finish to the conference race.

Personally, I'd like a rematch with OU.

As I mentioned in another posting, a B12 game with OU clarifies Herman's potential once and for all.

Win it - he's won the B12 conference, and finally bested OU for the year. A good year, and off to a NY Day bowl.

Lose it - he's 1-5 against OU, 0-2 in title games, losing with a senior QB against a freshman QB. If not now, it'll be never, so fire him and try again with another coach.

A rematch against OSU doesn't have the same clarification as one with OU - lose it, and supporter will talk about how the Wuhan messed the season up (I guess only for Texas, no one else would be affected). And a loss to OSU doesn't have the same sting as two losses in the same season (!) against OU.

Win it, and it's a good win, B12 title, off to the NY Day bowl, but OU still has the win for the year.

Clearly OU is the leader in the B12, and is sitting in the spot Texas wants to be. Gotta beat the man to be the man. Woooo!

It is foolish to have a title game in a conference with only 10 teams and 1 division, such that everyone plays everyone else, and the title game is a rematch. But there's $$$ to be made I guess from it, so it's there.

This. I agree on all accounts. Rematch with OU needs to happen.

It's a more challenging path to the CCG if OK State wins. A 4-way tie with ISU, OK State, and OU would put us in the CCG with no 2nd tiebreaker needed. We'd need all of the "other" chips to fall if we were tied for 2nd instead of 1st.

The only reason I want to rematch with OU so Sam has another shot at them. With all the ******** going on I’d love to see Sam get a victory over OU and a big 12 championship at the same time. In a weird way that was almost salvage the season for me

Never want OU to win, although wishing someone else beats them because we can't feels so "aggy". Why don't we take care of our own business for once? Playing the tiebreaker game EVERY FREAKING YEAR is getting old.

I would rather see TX beat KS this weekend and then see who survives the rest of the weekend. Probably wont be decided until Dec 5th pm.

If he and the offense can start faster against them we will win. Our d front is getting better each week and a quick start is likely the key to control the game and keep rattler rattled rather than rattling. We've only done it once in Herman's tenure.

And it doesn't matter who we want to win this weekend because ou and ISU will win those games...which is fine.
:)

That isn't the reason we wish someone else beats them. I root against them every game in the years we beat them, too. (Although the year they beat Auburn in the Sugar Bowl it was kind of fun to see that happen).
