It is a Tuesday nigh game with our non-weekend pitching staff but the pitching isnt the issue. No bats.

Horns lose...there is no explanation for this crap. Other top teams aren't losing to Oral Roberts at home. Other teams aren't getting spanked by Sand Aggy or having to steal one at home against Corn Aggy.

We aren't as good as we think we are...period. Maybe we will improve. Of course, we all thought we'd start to hit free throws too.

And to top it off, we are the only upset in the entire Top 25 tonight.

Everyone else took care of business and most did so convincingly against inferior competition. Congrats to Oral Bob. They deserved it.

IMO, yet another underachieving performance by the team this year. I'm sorry, but I really wonder if this coaching staff is past its prime? I know, I know..last year in the finals. But, we seem to do a lot less with a lot more talent for 4 of the past 5 years.

Lets not overreact to a Tuesday night loss. They happen from time to time. The bats seemed to have awakened this past weekend and it is disturbing that they left us tonight. This team wins in June with pitching and defense and those were present tonight from basically a number 5 starter in Stafford and relief that didnt include Ruffin. In a weekend game he comes in with the score tied at 2 and gives Texas a better chance to win.

The bats right now keep us from being an NC caliber team but this team has NC caliber pitching and defense and the NC isnt decided in March. If the bats come along, Omaha is still a realistic prospect. This isnt comparable to the FT's in basketball, apples to oranges.

We can say oh we didnt do this or didnt' to that but should we really even have to bring our A game to beat Oral Roberts? I can see losing to a good team but they barely are above .500. Our C game should be good enough. Our softball team should beat them.

Its pretty sad when I have to brag about swimming and diving. At least we have that...for now.

Eh. It just doesn't happen in baseball. Especially midweek games against "lesser" schools which amount to nothing more than extended practices.

If this game really upsets the tone of the team for conference play and our seeding in the NCAA CWS, I'd be surprised. The lack of production on offense gives them something to work on for the weekend.

that would be me Jack, well, somewhat. I didn't single Augie out. However, I do think we could strengthen the coaching staff overall. I'll let it go at that.

Not sure what air you are breathing, but the air I breathe here in Austin and while on this board is as clear and fresh as the chance to express one's opinions.
