My eyes! My eyes!
A new $227 million basketball facility at Oregon and that 's the best paint job they come up with for the court? I'm sure the rest of the facility is nice and maybe the court looks better in person, but on TV it's horrendous. Most of the time you can generally tell it's supposed to be trees, but sometimes it just looks like random pixelation and totally distracts from the game. Can you say market research?
And to top it off, they didn't install the red lighting on the backboard used to indicate the end of a playing period. The TV announcers said this type of lighting is required for NCAA women's games but not men's games, so the Oregon women were assessed a technical and Oregon State was given 2 free throws before the start of the game.
Also, I could not see an obvious midcourt line.
I would think one could get a lot better than this for $227 million.
