I’m thought Sonia was better defensively. The guys were seriously taking advantage of Shaylee early in the scrimmage. Sonia, Shaylee, and Sonia were good together but Shay is going to wind up on the floor a lot for the same reasons she did last year. Shay made a couple of nice drives against the practice players that were fun to watch.Rori is Rori; and Amo and Deyona are smoother, more confidant versions of Amo and Deyona.
The striking thing about Amina and Jak are how physically similar they appear with very similar games, very quick and mobile with the ball for forwards. They also have very similar builds, long and lean; Amina having a slight bulk advantage. At this first sighting, they even appear to be the same height, although the roster gives Amina two inches. The best thing about them is you wouldn't think they were freshmen, their skills are more advanced than other highly rated front court freshmen we have had in past years.
Who is the 2nd guard? I wish I knew since both Shaylee and Sonya both bring a lot. Sonya is a step quicker, but Shaylee was wearing a large knee brace which may hamper her a bit. I would give the nod to Sonya, but it is very close. More play in the exhibition games will probably reveal more.
Play was a bit ragged, with lots of fouls; Faye had 8 in the 1st quarter. But Faye is a banger and appears to love rebounding. If Taylor is out for an extended period, I could see an athletic starting lineup of:
Rori
Sonya/Shaylee
Amo
Deyona
Jak/.Amina
with Khadija Faye off the bench. But I'm sure Shay would slide in there somewhere.
I did not see Femme on the court...I may have missed her. But Taylor and Jordana did not play as expected. A new #25 played a bit in the 2nd half...I assume she is a walk-on.
Vic announced at media availability today that Femme was out as well as Taylor. He said they also added a walk-on this week so I’m assuming that’s #25.I did not see Femme on the court...I may have missed her. But Taylor and Jordana did not play as expected. Thank you all for the updates and based on what you all saw what is your prediction on the starting lineup so far and who impressed you the most in the scrimmage?
#21 on the White team was the best player on the court. Unfortunately for the program, he is a guy. Seriously, it was a physical, defense-dominated scrimmage in which nobody really lit up the lights.Thank you all for the updates and based on what you all saw what is your prediction on the starting lineup so far and who impressed you the most in the scrimmage?

I seriously think any combination of the Top 9 could start: Rori, Deyona, Amo, Shay, Sonya, Shaylee, Jak, Amina, Khadija.
I haven't seen Taylor and Femme this year, but they have to be considered also. Vic is going to love his options all year, the team is so deep.
At one point she had 5 points and 8 fouls. (Yes, they just played on.)So I had a friend attend the game and what I was told was that Faye is fairly aggressive like tackle football type of aggressive. Lol can someone who sent inform me if this is true or was my friend being dramatic.
He was being dramatic. Let's not forget that "Hadi" played a large role in beating us at home last year with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in 18 minutes (3 fouls). So I had a friend attend the game and what I was told was that Faye is fairly aggressive like tackle football type of aggressive. Lol can someone who sent inform me if this is true or was my friend being dramatic.
