I wanted to let everyone know about a program we (Texas alums) started called Operation Vacation.
We bring soldiers that have just returned from Iraq and Afghanistan to Austin, Dallas, and cities in Colorado for all-expense paid free vacations with their families.
Some of these guys have NEVER had a vacation. They come back from being gone a year and sit inside an apartment in Killeen. Guys, there's not much to do in Killeen. (Except cruise the Sonic). The idea is to get them quality time with their families that they probably wouldn't get in Killeen.
We need restaurants, activities, and fun stuff to do for our soldiers when they come to town. If you're interested in helping you can contact me at [email protected]
